“Can’t think of the last time I saw a cop with a revolver except for the older *special deputy* auxiliary types.”
I see them every now and then in the northeast. Almost always lifer cops that learned on them. Most big city PD’s forced a change to semiautos years ago.
They had a SWAT team in battle rattle waiting inside the venue. It beggers belief that they would not constrict the entrance channels to the venue (parking lot entrance) and put a sniper on over watch of the perimeter guard. This is standard practice, anybody who spent time in the sandbox would do this. The SWAT sniper would not be playing gin rummmy in the ready room waiting for a call out on a one-night event. He’d be glassing the perimeter and especially the entrance where the guards met their car. That does not mean the news would know this or cover this.
I believe I heard reference to four (or five) "concentric levels" of security, with no more detail than that.
“They should hold a press conference and give him a trophy, or at least a plaque and announce next years contest.”
I thought we would see a lot more newspapers publish the cartoon. There doesn’t seem to be solidarity behind supporting free speech in the media. The magazine that published the French cartoon created a special edition and sold out quickly.
Have any of the Presidential candidates commented on this incident?
Were you at the event?
Do you have the background story on the John Quincy Adams quote
The press isn’t curious enough to do more than repeat the information handed to them on a platter. They don’t know enough about firearms or tactics to intelligently question what they were handed even if they were curious. Ultimately everybody comes out happy. The police protect their tactics and identity of the officers involved, the media gets a happy meme, gunnies get to smile and wonder, and the scumbags get to see allah.
A win/win/win/win.
One more win from crediting the pistolero: The next jihadists can also be taken out by snipers they didn’t account for in their infiltration plan. Keep the tactic under wraps makes sense, if that’s how it went down. Now, let’s see if the sniper (if any) can stay off TV, and not try for a book and movie deal like the OBL shooter.
Pam Geller should be a National heroine for what she did/done, instead, she is becoming a National pariah.
Yes I was at the event.
No.
Correction: A subsequent news story has the cop’s weapon as a Glock. (Semi-automatic pistol).
Kind of figured that, also quite familiar with a Glock, LOL!
