Actually the event was held at a school facility. No one but peace officers can carry there. Against the law for ccw holders to have a firearm in a school district facility in Texas.

Private security can also carry in a school, legally.

That is incorrect - it is up to the local school board to allow it or not.

Besides, this event may have been in school building but school was not going on.
