Hannity talking with anonymous cop making breaking news. Cop says Freddy tested positive for drugs, including heroin, thus supporting story by cops and the other criminal in the van that Freddy was trying to cause harm to himself. The drugs would certainly make it easier for him to do it.
Cop also says they were explicitly told not to confront looters and robbers "direct from commander."

forgive the cut and paste, I tried to space the groupings but it was not working with this computer I am on.

Allegations aside. The man was on camera saying he feared for his life.

And yet, in this modern time there is some responsibility expected of the captors as well as the captives. Not even by himself, other loose bodies were chucked into the paddy wagon. To shake that around is not conscionable, I dont care how much contempt you have for criminal class since if we stop leaving karma up to God, focusing ourselves on written and standardized canons of justice, we end up uncorking the raw desire for revenge which is what, incidentally, fueled the riots.
I tend to agree with you. There's a reason why straitjackets and padded rooms exist, and it isn't necessarily because the person put in them is going to harm others
So I completely buy off on the concept of this guy having a drug-induced, self-destructive, violent reaction and throwing himself around in the van in a way that ended up causing his fatal injuries.
What I don't buy off on is that it was ok for the cops to take someone who was handcuffed and legshackled and just tossing him into the back of a van without also restraining him to the van. We all wear seatbelts for a reason, right? And then (allegedly) taking him for a "nickle ride."
Having said that though, the question is whether doing so is just common sense, or formalized police policy that the cops in question had been briefed on. I've read where there was such a policy but that it was only a few days old and the cops may not have been briefed on it yet.
In that case the cops probably have a pretty good defense. At least against the more serious charges. It also shows that this situation is MUCH more complex than the politicized narratives (on both sides) would have us believe.

Supposedly the van made an extra undisclosed stop.
The Baltimore police on Thursday handed over to prosecutors the results of their much-anticipated initial investigation into the fatal injury suffered by a young man in their custody, including the discovery that a police van carrying the man made a previously undisclosed stop en route to a police station.
The new stop turned up on video taken from a privately owned camera, said the deputy police commissioner, Kevin Davis. He added that it was previously unknown to us, but he did not elaborate.
His statement suggested that no police officers told investigators about the stop.

I watched another CNN video of it and they cut it exactly at the moment he stands up. Funny how they play with us isnt it? Yeah, I saw that. They cut out literally a couple of seconds from the video right at that moment and fill it in with a SFX flash of light!

Not only that he is yelling....kind of hard with a crushed larynx. He was not injured before being put in that van the van other that what being shot with a taser did to him.
To: TigersEye
What I had heard was there was the original video that was on youtube, which I did not see, and that one was apparently taken down some point soon after it was put up, and that a new video from CNN replaced it, which I also never saw, but apparently that one was different in some way.
I didn’t watch any Gray videos until quite some time after this stuff started, so I am not sure what all that was about.
But it looks like after watching him being placed int he van standing up like that. that he was not in some paralyzed state going into that van.

Check out Conservative Treehouse. They have a story that the lead investigator’s girlfriend, a reporter, put this story out there.
It is not the same guy.

Yeah, I saw that. They cut out literally a couple of seconds from the video right at that moment and fill it in with a SFX flash of light! They must have pulled that trick on a different broadcast. The one I saw just ended completely about a millisecond before he stands up.
I hate the media with a passion.

Except the fellow criminal now is beginning to recant his statement. Under threat of retaliation for helping defend the "man"?

Is he? He knows that snitches get stitches and he sees which side the local government on, the gangs side.
Plus that guy who appeared on TV might have been a complete fraud.
