Hannity talking with anonymous cop making breaking news. Cop says Freddy tested positive for drugs, including heroin, thus supporting story by cops and the other criminal in the van that Freddy was trying to cause harm to himself. The drugs would certainly make it easier for him to do it.
Cop also says they were explicitly told not to confront looters and robbers "direct from commander."
Curious that they didn’t find any PCP...which might explain the thrashing about part of the story.
and Gray was alone in his part...
:)
“They gave him a rough ride to knock him around a bit”
Pure speculation.
But here are some facts from the charges against the officers.
They put him in the van, cuffed and later shackled stomach down with his head toward the front. But on the ME report the claim is that injuries matched a bolt in the rear of the van.
Logically, it seems he would have had to reposition to get these injuries. Never mind there is a witness statement stating that Gray was injuring himself.
Yes He was.
I think the leg irons were put on at the next stop, there were several stops
” Per other man in van on CNN tonight (yes I know CNN yuck) the van right was smooth
You do know that the other passenger was only in the van for the last few minutes of the ride, right? His neck was already broken by then.
“The other prisoner that changed his story after the media released his name now says it was a smooth ride
When I got in the van, I didnt hear nothing. It was a smooth ride. We went straight to the police station.
All I heard was a little banging for about four seconds. I just heard little banging, just little banging.”
The van made about 4 stops, and the other passenger was picked up on the very last stop. Freddie Gray was mortally wounded in the back by then, there is no disputing that fact based on the information that we have.

You don’t thing that the phrase “back of the van” was used in this context as being in the rear comportment of the van as opposed to the front where the driver sits? Also, is there only single such bolt in the back of the van?
“Mike” has clarified why the guys changing his story...he’s afraid what’s going to happen to him....and very common in that neighborhood they retaliate on one another.
New video shows arrest of Freddie Gray in Baltimore Youtube video 2:34 April 21, 2015
I find it interesting that the report is from April 21st and the main thrust of it is that the autopsy report was finished.
....”If the defense can demonstrate that this guy did, or tried to do, intentional harm to himself, they will create reasonable doubt in the jury’s mind and these officers will be acquitted”....
Apparently Gray has a history of doing just that when arrested...the officer reports would likely attest to that.
I agree there is much more not being said then is known at this point....the evidence is not layed out yet...and frankly I don’t believe all that the prosecutor presented...I think she left out some interesting facts that would change the equation. Of course her job is to defend Gray so you’d expect so.
It’s possible they didn’t clarify specifically. In the “back of the van” seems like the back. “in the van” or “in the back” would indicate merely in the van.
But, this will come out in the trial.
However, the bigger problems is that the other arrested person, claims it was a smooth ride. So, the second degree murder charge seems far fetched to me.
Says who?
And yet that other passenger heard "a little banging" as the van continued on its way. Remarkable effort for a guy with a broken neck wouldn't you say?
He could have shattered his neck during a hard amber-light stop, if he tipped over and landed on his head. We know nothing about this case.
“Running isn’t illegal.”
Supreme Court has ruled that in high crime area, fleeing from police is “reasonable suspicion” to apprehend, detain, and search”.
The knife is key though for any further (arresting action). The States’ Attorney is cute by half here, stating in her charging document that the knife is not a switchblade, and is legal in Maryland.
It was a spring assisted knife, which in the city of Baltimore is illegal. I see no case for the illegal arrest and false imprisonment charges.
Doesn’t matter now he is a martyr. They will use him till the next incident happens.
He died in a hospital? Hospitals are dangerous places. People die there.
