Question: Anybody Know Why No Grand Jury Needed In Maryland?

Posted on 05/01/2015 5:47:56 PM PDT by Cubs Fan

Is it up to the states attorney to decide? Or are there some rules about when a grand jury is necessary.

Bottom line why was there a grand jury in Ferguson but not in Maryland?

She could not win over a grand jury but wanted politically to please blacks. She chose politics over justice. Which means she does not have the evidence to win a trial that is not rigged.

I think the word you wanted was artifact (of another day’s view of prosecutors) rather than anachronism. An anachronism would be something of today oddly assigned to an earlier time rather than something of an earlier time found today.

Uhm, you have it backwards on the definition of anachronism. An artifact would be a remnant, even of current period.

So no, I said anachronism.

Perhaps I misunderstood you. Show me how your usage fits below.

anachronism (noun): something (such as a word, an object, or an event) that is mistakenly placed in a time where it does not belong in a story, movie, etc.

: a person or a thing that seems to belong to the past and not to fit in the present

Full Definition of ANACHRONISM
1: an error in chronology; especially : a chronological misplacing of persons, events, objects, or customs in regard to each other
2: a person or a thing that is chronologically out of place; especially : one from a former age that is incongruous in the present
3: the state or condition of being chronologically out of place
