A Colorado heating and cooling company was caught refusing to do business in a Denver neighborhood because residents there are "colored people" and "they don't pay their bills," according to an undercover investigation by Fox affiliate KDVR.

I was thinking more about 1999. I was thinking back to when FR would organize demonstrations and rallies (Freeps), when the likes of B-1 Bob Dornan was a poster, as were other known activists and media figures. Listening to Rush was like a play-by-play of what was being discussed on FR that day. Back when the only real conservative TV was a young, Newt Gingrich railing to an empty chamber for hours, broadcast only on C-SPAN.
FR made news and history- I remember when a Freeper (wasn’t his name Buckhead?) brought down Dan Rather in Typewriter-gate.
Things have changed a whole lot. And not for the better.
“If a sufficiently high percentage of an identifiable group creates problems, it is sometimes more cost effective to not deal with that group, than to do the extra work to distinguish the good customers from the bad ones.”
_________
The same sort of rationalization that Lois Lerner and the IRS gave for focusing on conservative non-profit organizations. It was BS then, and it’s BS now.
You’re free to leave anytime you wish.
Lol...
False analogy. Lerner was not seeing conservative non-profits showing non-compliance with the law at a higher rate than Leftist non-profits. She just was going after conservatives for political reasons.
Like I said before, if an identifiable group has a profile of much-higher-than-average rate of non-payment, then it can increase profit to simply not do business with that group.
You have a good memory of the early days for somebody with a sign-up date of a few months ago. Are you sure you're not a recycled concern-troll?
The same is true for lawyers. I always gave lawyers very high prices so my competitor would benefit from not being paid
The solution is simple. If the Company in questions won’t do the work, find a black owned company and let them do the work
The owner of the business made it a racial issue when he said he was refusing people in a certain area based on their race and his observation that people of that race in that area didn’t pay their bills.
If he’d dropped the whole racial element and simply said he was no longer servicing that neighborhood, or zip code, or other geographically defined area due to high numbers of non-payment in that area he’d probably be in the clear. The same way pizza delivery drivers don’t go into specific geographic areas due to elevated crime.
The difference is that the geographic part is correlation with race. Saying “colored people” part is causation. Correlation can still cause issues of course, but there’s a big SCOTUS case on it coming up pretty soon.
Well said Pub! You must have looked over the ‘extensive’ posting history. My favorite is the posts stating that our Military Cadets forced to prance around in women’s high heels in some sick liberal diversity thing was no big deal. Yep, FR has sure changed alright.....

You called it
Demand full payment in advance from all customers.
Problem solved.
Gave dude space on his "No need to carry concealed weapons" post. I figured he was just a little overconfident in this period of urban warfare.
Most of his other posts at that time were at least grudgingly conservative.
However, since then, he has denied the actual proven history of Abraham Lincoln, mocking a posters comment that Abraham Lincoln believed Negroes should be repatriated to Africa. when even the simplest Wikipedia search shows "Since the 1840s Lincoln had been an advocate of the American Colonization Society program of colonizing blacks in Liberia."
Since then, he has called posters who do not want to increase their risk of unjustified attacks in black-majority areas "racist". I also call those freepers a word starting with the letter "r" and ending with the letter "t": Realist.
Since then he has attacked Mrs. Don-O as ignorant, which I find ignorant in and of itself. Mrs. Don-O is one of our better posters.
Since then, he has declared himself to be agnostic on the issue of gay marriage.
Now, this dig against Free Republic.
The former statements are hardly the positions of conservatives, and the last statement is hardly the position of a friend of Free Republic.
I'm sure I could find more in his posting history, but I grow bored. Instead, I predict 'Regal' will be 'Regally Zotted' before long.
Absolutely agree with your view of Mrs. Don-O.
I also understand your wish not to bother with his posting history, so I’ll just add a couple of things.
He thinks white people are whiners, and he thinks men going around in high-heeled pumps isn’t that big of a deal.
Yep...a matter of time.
Not just men. I could see that as a valid opinion. "You wanna be weird? Have at it."
No, the men in question were Army recruits.
And they were under order.
Not acceptable.
I forgot that part. You’re right.
The offer of my hand in marriage is a standing offer.
Well, you know I’m married, but we can always move to Utah and do polygamy. Problem solved.
I’m wearing your tagline as a token of my love.
So, why not simply amend the website to list the neighborhoods it does service? In fact, alter the insurance plan to eliminate the non-paying neighborhood, so when called, the company can truthfully say, "I'm sorry, we're not insured to work there."
I’ll take what I can get.
