Filmmaker Michael Moore demanded on Twitter Thursday that America’s police officers be disarmed and all African-Americans imprisoned for non-violent crimes be released.
Moore’s demands came in response to the death of Freddie Gray, the 25-year-old man who dies two weeks ago while in police custody in Baltimore.

I wish he lived in a liberal inner city, without his security detail.

Yeah, that’ll work out great. I do agree police need to be de-militarized. We also need to reassert the 2nd amendment and to make everything meaningful, allow citizens to carry the same weaponry as the police. Tyranny starts with the police.

Well, who does he think will enforce the big government that he demands? You can’t have socialism without the use of force by government guns, so if you disarm those that point the guns, then you by default disarm the tyrant.

One of the legitimate functions of a rational government is the protection of natural rights of individuals.If society as an organized body is to protect man's rights, the citizens must create an agency with the power to do the job. Since force can be stopped only by force, such and agency must banish coercion by itself using force against the force-wielders. This agency is the government and the police are the protectors.
“We have a 1/4 billion 2nd amendment guns in our homes 4 protection. We’ll survive til the right cops r hired,” he wrote.
In a rational society, individuals agree to delegate their right of self-defense; they renounce the private use of physical force even in self-protection (except during those emergencies that require action at once, before the police can be summoned).
Better yet - disarm the police in an inner city neighborhood and have Mr. Moore live in that neighborhood for a week, two weeks, or a month. He would be singing a different tune. Who does he think he is to demand anything?

Maybe he can have Freddie (along with a few of those non-violent African American offenders) as houseguests at his 2 million dollar place in Torch Lake, MI. Or maybe his large condo in NYC that was once three apartments?
