Despite a firm denial by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, a senior law enforcement source charges that she gave an order for police to stand down as riots broke out Monday night, raising more questions about whether some of the violence and looting could have been prevented.
The source, who is involved in the enforcement efforts, confirmed to Fox News there was a direct order from the mayor to her police chief Monday night, effectively tying the hands of officers as they were pelted with rocks and bottles.
Asked directly if the mayor was the one who gave that order, the source said: "You are God damn right it was."
The claim follows criticism of the mayor for, over the weekend, saying they were giving space to those who "wished to destroy."

I thought she was Mayor Dianaross, but I’m old.
This “rising star” will continue to shine in the democrat cesspool plz
I would suppose if the the Balt. orioles fans would just NOT go to games, it would make a big statement to these creeps since the games bring lots of tourists and lots of money ...
This woman was described as a “rising star” in the Democrat party.
“Well if I only had some sons”. We heard part of his bs yesterday addressing the B’more situation and just about hurled all over the dash board. This is the biggest loser and threat to this country I could ever have imagined. Or worse. In my 67 years (some that I can remember), I’ve never seen such turmoil and “non diversity”. Except maybe for the early ‘60’s when MLK actually made some gains. Now this clown is causing more dissension among the ranks than I’ve seen for many years.
Now that is funny!
Drag a big trunk through Baltimore and who knows how many votes you’ll get.
No, she really did not say that. What she said was, that in an effort to give peaceful protesters space to protest, they inadvertently also gave space to those who wished to destroy [property] as well. Her wording was poor, and has led to many people suggesting that she intended to give rioters room to destroy, but I really don't think that is what she meant.
As in another post of mine, I will say that I don't agree with the approach - to give room to the protesters, even as some turned violent and destructive. I also think that she is not entirely competent. But I do not think she intentionally allowed violent rioters "space to destroy". It was an unfortunate (albeit entirely foreseeable) result of her chosen tactic.
We gave those who wished to destroy space to do that.
Baltimore waste land.
And do you want to take a guess who told her to do that? Hint - Look towards DC.
But that is what she said. The idiots out there took her at her word that she was giving them a free pass. She truly is incompetent and should not be allowed to open her mouth in any kind of a public forum. She needs a keeper.
“...Mayor Rawlings-Blake also serves as vice president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and in key USCM leadership positions...”
Can you believe this????????????????
“”saying they were giving space to those who “wished to destroy.”””
Has anyone heard her explanation of what that meant? Has anyone asked her the question?
It is more likely that she will get promoted to the U.S. Senate seat now occupied by the ugly dyke who claims to be a Catholic.
It wasn't inadvertently. She was purposeful. What did she expect from too much space?
She comes across as not very intelligent and completely incompetent.
The contrast between her and Gov. Hogan is stark.
Thanks - that gives me an answer to my question in #35.....
Here in my town, the liberal city council gave the ‘graffiti artists’ a wall and asked them to paint that rather than the business storefronts. It didn’t work of course but I find the similarities to this situation amusing.
