Religious institutions could be at risk of losing their tax-exempt status due to their beliefs about marriage if the Supreme Court holds that gay couples have a constitutional right to wed, President Obamas attorney acknowledged to the Supreme Court today.
Its certainly going to be an issue, Solicitor General Donald Verrilli replied when Justice Samuel Alito asked if schools that support the traditional definition of marriage would have to be treated like schools that once opposed interracial marriage. I dont deny that.

Being in AZ helps often in cases like this, but you are in a much more difficult situation with a large family.
tax exemption for religious organizations is not a gift from our beneficial government....it was demanded at the beginning, by the people
, and I don’t believe that ANYONE has the balls to attempt to end it...
‘.. traditional Marriage can still be preserved without gov’t interference.’
That’s not what the “Progressives” want. They want to destroy the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. They want to rewrite the word of God. Religion must be destroyed. Peoples who find strength in a power higher than Man are not good ‘subjects’.
Thugs like Obama don’t need law or guts, they just do.
Having so many dependent children means “hostages to fortune,” as the saying goes. On the other hand, ordinary life in suburban Charlotte is conservative. It’s much more common for me for people to say, “God bless you! My grandparents had (large number of) children!” than it is for people to say, “What’s wrong with you?!?”
If my husband took a stand against homosexuality at the large investment firm where he works, that would be a big issue ... but up to now, it hasn’t been brought up as an ideological point. Everyone works with homosexuals sometimes, and you treat them politely like any other coworker.
also Scientology and other “religions” would be taxed
no they aren't...and you don't pull status from the big kid on the block first....ever.
It is conservative here as well. More churches than bars: )
Not muslims....goats maybe, but not pigs and dogs....:o):o)
If gay marriage must be recognized by the states, why not pot from Colorado?
Our “city” just got liquor licensing a couple of years ago. There are handful of businesses selling beer and wine now.
I voted against the liquor licensing because state Alcoholic Beverage Control is a hugh Democrat swindle. They sell the licenses for liquor stores to cronies, and hold up bars/restaurants for bribes.
I guess the difference is that the Catholic church does not try to prevent them from doing so...merely says that they are in error and cannot receive the sacraments validly...
There you go! This was ONE of their goals all along!
Not just that gay activists have stated that they will be attending churches to see what is being preached and if the SCOTUS upholds gay marriage then they intend to start demanding the right to marry in given churches that do not approve of this and when they refuse bring Federal discrimination and civil rights charges against these churches and of course they will judge shop and once they win come in and take all property and monies a given church has and replace the deacons and pastor with gay friendly officers....
Don't forget faithful Jews.
Absolutely.
Faithful Jews have been open to persecution for a long time. It will definitely increase. Christians will join them in being hated by many.
Jews are the “canary in the coal mine,” as the saying goes. Even non-practicing people of Jewish heritage are at risk when the Judeo-Christian paradigm gives way to the anti-Judeo-Christian paradigm, which empowers radical Marxist/atheists as well as radical Moslems.
Everyone in a contract with a government entity.
Too bad we can’t outlaw politicians. If it weren’t for graft,
how would they spend their time ?
Selling used cars?
