As things get tougher, prevailing conditions will separate the true believers from the pew-sitters I think.

More likely leaving the physical building of a Church.
I know several who have gone to home Church meetings.

Author is misreading statistics and giving it his anti-Christian slant. It is correct that Europe and US have become more secularist but not the world. It is true that Islam is growing faster than Christianity because of higher birth rate and forced conversions. Demography is destiny.

The union-controlled Marxist teachers are indoctrinating children to embrace the government as God. Mommy-the-Feminist is off at work and too busy to raise her damn children, nor does she even care.

I no longer go to church because my church went left and left me.
Just because I don’t attend church does not mean I am not a believer.

It was hard to read the statistics but it appears people are leaving churches not religions. What morally healthy individual could tolerate the false teachings in main line churches?

Now granted there is an ever growing dying of Western Civilization there could be mass conversions to non Christian religions. One sees the fatuous Westerner that has serially converted to Tao, then Hinduism, then Buddhism, then Gaia etc.

Too many people are Christians in name Only, and have no biblical knowledge in what being a follower of Christ means. Calling themselves Christians and truly having Christ in their lives are two very different things. We need to educate people about the Christian faith, even if they call themselves Christians.

Feel-good, no consequences, God doesn’t judge and neither should you, everyone is going to Heaven Christianity is no better than a positive thinking fad, and fads have shelf-lifes. Its easy to leave a religion that believes in nothing and demands nothing of you.

My church is getting more and more new faces every week. People are hungry for the Lord. True believers are increasing, Christians in name only were never there to begin with.

Ethics: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal

Or so says your personal FR page.

So then you turn around and you choose to parrot a poll by the liberal Pew organization peddled uncritically in one of the most avowedly liberal "news" sources on the web?

Projections created by the same modeling techniques used to predict the alleged population explosion in the '60's, alleged global cooling in the '70's, alleged man-made ozone depletion in the '80's, alleged man made global warming in the '00's, allegedly and effectively now-ambivalent man made climate change in the '10's.

The poll conveniently ignores today's explosive growth in Christianity in China, in South America, and in Africa, particularly among those who formerly adhered to Islam. The late Chuck Colson and his ministry routinely pointed to such encouraging signs in spite of backsliding in supposedly "sophisticated" Western liberal media driven cultures -- which is all the effete elites see out of their Manhattan high rises.

When will those calling themselves conservatives stop posting junk modeling from derelict leftists, as though such modeling has ever been right before?

An astute conservative will realize that this is merely another Tokyo Rose moment floated in the media looking for suckers and hand wringers to be played who are naturally inclined toward depression and pessimism.

FReegards!

Christians leaving Jesus Christ as Redeemer/Savior, I think not.

They might be leaving a denomination (especially those that have become apostate and no longer believe in or preach the Bible as the Word of God) but I seriously doubt they've given up following our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

If they are claiming that to be true, they were never, believers in the first place!

...Islam is expected to catch up to Christianity midway through the 21st century.

I am so glad I won't be around for it. My kids and grandkids are less fortunate.

Christians who belong to any church that follows man's perversion of God's word are being deceived by you know who. Example:

Commandment # 2. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

#4. “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

The Catholic Bible's Ten Commandments: 1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me. 2. You shall not take the name of the Lord God in vain 3. Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day 4. Honor your father and your mother 5. You shall not kill 6. You shall not commit adultery 7. You shall not steal 8. You shall not bear false witness 9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife 10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods

In the Hebrew translation of the 10 Commandments, can you spot the perversions in the Catholic Bible?

As well, the Roman Emperor Constantine along with the Roman Catholic Church perverted God's law, the 4th Commandment that begins with REMEMBER by moving the Sabbath day of worship from the last day to the 1st day of the week because it was both politically and religiously expedient. This is not meant to bash Catholicism but it is simply the facts of the history of Christianity. God never changes nor does His word but man has himself certainly changed God's word so it better fits into man's world. Those who are deceived by Satan continue to allow the perversion of God's word and His law to stand.

Most churches avoid discussing sin and avoid teaching prophecy like the plague. These churches never criticize government or popular culture.
Worthless and Godless.

Hello! They are leaving the apostate churches in droves. Their belief in the one true GOD has not changed. It is the churches who have changed. Now they must leave or stay trapped in the false religious doctrine being taught by many so called “churches” today. They know the true church.

The apostate churches are not preaching the gospel anymore. But the church needs more money for a new library or gymnasium. Dare I say maybe pastor needs a new Gulfstream. Priorities are lost. The poor in spirit can wait and go to hell until the financial situation improves and financial goals are met.

The true church wants to hear the truth, not some politically correct gospel, being taught from the pulpit by some heretic pastor.

Sorry if the truth p*sses off a bunch of churches and their followers. Better I, a sinner, tell you than Jesus in that day. Though, I walk in darkness and tribulation, I believe in the ultimate promise.

GOD Bless Texas...and the USA.

Per the Catholic church, around 200 million Christians were killed last year, mostly by Muslims.

a. This ‘study/poll’ is from PEW and Yahoo. *Rolleyes*

b. Many of us have left our CHURCH due to the acceptance of gays and all the other cr@p masquerading as ‘The Word’ these days, but we haven’t left God. Huge difference. HUGE.

c. I call B.S. - It’s Agenda FIRST with these dopey leftist ‘fantasies.’

d. I ain’t scared. I’m right with God. :)
