Governor Hogan needs to hold a press conference and very clearly state the limits of his power and that acted fully within them and through the idiot mayor of Baltimore under the bus. He’s already stating that he acted within 30 seconds of her request. He needs to make absolutely clear that he had no authority to do so before hand and that he was taking all possible steps to get that authority and be ready to act. Despite all that, I’d like to know why he did not act in force, take charge, once the request came. National guard troops should have been on the streets in the middle of the city within minutes of that request from the mayor. He as a duty to protect the citizens of the Maryland that should outweigh any regard to give the mayor the opportunity to allow protesters the room to destroy a community in Maryland.
O’Malley jumps every time the phone rings. The last thing he wants is to get involved and scuttle his nascent presidential run.

Not locally.A local anchor ,Stan Stovall is in full damage control mode for his mayor.Tough questions are coming from international reporters. Mostly with British accents.She quickly deflects.
If he goes on TV and demands the resignation of the mayor and city council, then my opinion will change. Until then, he’s just another coward politician.

To be honest I never grew in these neighborhoods and mostly grew up in mixed, mostly white neighborhoods in Virginia growing up, I may offer an opinion but thats really it, nothing I can do, the ones that live in those places they need to find what it means to live in a civilized society, not me, I’m a working, tax paying American.
I think her explanation makes the most sense in the context of her remarks... I give her the benefit of the doubt as well.

People like the Clintons and Obamas are living lives of luxury based on their crookedness. I think they would disagree with you. A few decades ago, people like them wouldn’t have had the opportunity.
I spent a few months on the ‘dark contintent.’ It’s the same, the gibsmedat thrives there too.
The mayor is a stupid liar and probably hopes the media would cover for her. She should have spent less time on her make-up, which had to take hours, and more time contemplating action.
