“I think the police are trying to back away and make way for the National Guard to come in to “put to an end” the riot.”

What we have is a complete breakdown of the black “leadership” in Baltimore and a limp-wristed governor who also failed to take charge. I mean the idea that he “had to wait” for that worthless Black Mayor to “request” the National Guard. If there was ever a case for martial law, this is it. The guard should have been deployed immediately when the burning started. It makes me puke to see the governor give a press conference from his “command center” and he has no information for the press. He should have been working behind the scene and not be out in front of the cameras making a fool of himself. My cousin manned a machine gun in an intersection in the LA riots 50 years ago as a member of the CA National Guard. He never had to fire a shot, but the rioters got the message and stopped their rampage when the Guard set up shop.

Well this Gov. is a WHOLE LOT BETTER then the one in Mizzou with regards to the riots in Ferguson last year. At least the NG got called up in a day’s time.

I think also Gov. Hogan wanted the Baltimore Mayor to let’s say “pay a very dear price” for her “stupid remarks” about giving the troublemakers space to “riot.”

yes Governor Hogan had to wait for the mayor to request assistance because THAT IS THE LAW REQUIRED TO CALL UP THE GUARD. He mobilized the Guard 30 seconds after that ratched excuse of a Mayor made the call

(Just like after Katrina when President Bush by LAW had to wait to send in the Guard until that miserable blubbering excuse of a Lousiana governor Kathleen Blanco finally made the call)

Hogan is a GOP governor who's been in office 3 months and is already showing a lot of backbone dealing with O’Malleys malfeasance and the democrat machine that has driven this state into becoming controlled by the “votes” coming from enclaves of 3rd world ghettos and the white liberals that pimp them

Reminds me of New Orleans with Katrina bearing down. President Bush didn't call out the National Guard, awaiting request by the Mayor and then Governor, which never came in time to evacuate/secure the area.

No, it is not the governor’s problem

The mayor dithered until she saw the CVS burning and the police car being trashed before running to the governor to bail her out.

The governor was prepared. he got the troops out within just a few hours which could not have happened if they weren’t pretty much ready to go.
