Many places have a Good Samaritan law that protects people that come by and help.
The 'doom and gloom' crowd here on FR is really getting over the top.

it states that he popped the air bag. And waited for the fir personnel to extract the injured couple from the minivan. Do not think he will undergo any prosecution for any wrongdoing - assisted at an accident.
