By now, youve probably heard of Kristen Lindsey. Shes the veterinarian from Brenham whos given more bad press to the state than Blue Bell after she posted a picture on Facebook of herself, smiling and holding an arrow with a dead cat on the end of it:

Or just left alone to wander back home.
So she could have live trapped it and dispatched it with a .22lr?
The proof that what I said is not "nonsense" is this very thread.
I didn’t have a near miss, but I saw enough one night that I was glad that I was not far between houses, and it was enough that I realized what a dog pack really is and that they are real.
You know how things are in theory, and then we see something that makes it real for us, yours was an actual near miss with a horrible death.
Not many of go out in a way that is equal to being eaten alive by dogs tearing off little bits and pieces of us.
Occasionally I read a post here by someone looking for a better weapon to carry jogging, and some here have said that the dogs at night made them give up jogging.
Dogs become much worse in a group, the group becomes something that the individuals aren’t
Read your post 295, you made one of the super creepy posts, something that makes a conservative person recoil.
There is nothing at all wrong or non-conservative about condemning this veterinarian’s actions.
She could have just ignored it.
Anybody else starting to suspect that “Roo” needs some sympathy? If Roo is real, I’d buy him a beer. ;)
You’re welcome-given that the fines for spreading poison are horrible-all the way to 10K for an egregious violation-it is a good thing the organic stuff works, otherwise there would be some miserable people here.
Apples, peaches, pears, blackberries and such do very well here but a banana tree will not last the winter, and a citrus tree is iffy at best. Where I grew up-SW Texas-everyone has citrus trees, and you rig covers for them if it freezes, which is rare. Last freeze date here is usually late March, and the soil is thin and rocky.
Try some of the sand-loving tomatoes to grow-also you could raise a garden bed like we do here, and put topsoil in it with the sand for a base...
No, you obviously are clueless about the preferred method of dealing with feral cats.
First of all, there is no substantiating information that this cat was feral and could very well have been someone's pet.......but I digress.
The preferred method in dealing with FERAL cats is now TNR........Trap, Neuter and Release and is the method recommended by virtually every rescue agency and veterinary clinic throughout the country......
Calling people “liberal” on FR is much like being called “racist” or “homophobic.” Meant to shut down discussion and declare yourself the winner.
Fixed.
Calling people liberal on FR is much like being called racist or homophobic. Meant to shut down discussion and declare yourself the winner.
Not necessarily. When I come across people who advocate expanding big government programs and restriction of constitutional rights I call them a liberal.
LOL. Roo was my sweet old German Shorthaired Pointer, who died too young of adrenal cancer at 13 years old. Best dog a girl ever had.
Yes, I have 4 beautiful raised planter beds that I’m not very skilled with but I keep trying. Most of the problem I have are with bugs, so I’m looking forward to checking out the products you recommended.
And you obviously have not read my previous posts about the problems with TNR. There is still cat crap to deal with on MY property that I don’t want MY dogs eating. And there is still the problem with the spread of disease and parasites. I should not be expected to have to deal with these things on MY property because of someone else being irresponsible.
The cat in question did not have a tag or collar and as far as I can tell was not chipped. Why would anyone think it was someone’s pet?
And cats...well, you have to appreciate their individuality! Plus, they do bring you back to earth when your britches get too big for yourself....
This pretty much says it all: Cat Friends versus Dog Friends!
When I was in the Army in Washington state, I had a very intelligent, very alpha Keesehond.
When I would let him out I noticed that he would gather up the other neighborhood dogs and lead his little pack of a merry band around, and when my wife and I would take him for walks, he would take us up to their fences when they were back inside their yards, and he seemed so proud of my wife and I, as though he was showing us off to his buddies.
It was a very reals sense of that showing off going on. This was in 1972, so things were different about dogs being loose.
The instructions say do not harvest edible crops for 48 hrs-I usually give it another day if I can. Snails are the bitch here in early Spring, along with brave deer that hop the fence-but they hate the smell of this stuff and stay away-and it is hell on snails, too.
First off, the vast majority of cat owners do not put collars on their cats that they allow outside and for the record, I'm against any owner allowing their cat outside.
However, with that being said, why would a student of veterinary medicine attempt to kill a cat with a bow and arrow then display it as a trophy once she did so?
You don't have any logical argument here Roos so give it up..............
I am the Alpha-I began to establish that with my Siberian Husky when she was about 9 weeks old-if you do not set it up right with dogs like Huskies, Malamutes and other wolf-like breeds, you are in for a very difficult time controlling that dog.
