As contributions fall, House GOP rebels blame party leaders

WASHINGTON (AP) — As he began his first re-election run in early 2013, tea party Rep. Thomas Massie had no trouble raising money from business interests.

Then came 2015.

The Kentucky Republican voted against returning John Boehner, R-Ohio, to the speaker's job and opposed an effort by GOP leaders to avoid a standoff with President Barack Obama over immigration that threatened to shut down the Department of Homeland Security.

In the first three months of 2013, Massie reported $46,000 rolling in from tobacco, trucking, health care and other industries. During the first quarter of 2015, Massie has collected just $1,000 from political action committees, which funnel contributions to candidates from business, labor or ideological interests. That money came from the conservative Eagle Forum.

Massie and some other conservatives say the reason their business contributions have fallen is simple: GOP leaders are retaliating for their defiance.

Very interesting.

Not surprising, but interesting nonetheless.

This is where Grover Norquist and Tom DeLay have brought us.

All they wanted to do was make sure that Republican candidates were as whorish in their grab for money as Democrats, hence the K Street Initiative.

Now, not only do the GOPE get all the corporate bribes they can handle, they can also make a few calls and prevent conservative Republicans from getting any money at all.

Transform the GOP to what the people want.

Conservative Republicans have been crying for that since Reagan Goldwater, and it still hasn't happened.

Conservative Republicans could have dumped Boehner in January 2013. They didn't.

Conservative Republicans could have dumped Boehner in January 2015. They didn't.

Conservative Republicans could have fought to deny McConnell the Majority Leader position. They didn't.

So, when??????

When the NRSCC or the Republican Party call, I tell them I don’t support what they’re doing and that I’m going to send my money directly to the candidates I want. They usually ask why, so I tell them.

I ain’t giving the bums a danged penny. They win the Congress, suppose to stand up to the tyrant in the WH, yet end up kissing his skinny black butt. Why elect them when they simply become aiders and abetters to the commies in charge. The punk in the WH has them over his knees and he is slapping their butts if they don’t give him what he wants. The RINO party is worthless. Why vote, it does not matter one danged bit because the RINOs are going to DO NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely nothing. Elect them, WHY?? Worthless butt kissers is all they are.

Boehner is a traitor, but mostly a bed-wetting punk.

It needs to be made clear to this democrat traitor that there will be an American-style Nuremberg trial.

He will not do well in that courtroom.

Possibly we don’t even need a “party”. A party is for organizing and you can’t herd cats. We need patriots to run and to fund and to work for, but do we really even need a party?

The Party is simply a bundler of corporate big money, who lets its purse for only Establishment candidates and fine food, but it’s never going to be open for conservatives, ever.

First, the GOP must die. Everything else comes after that.

The Libertarian party is the answer. We have the mechanism to put people on the ballot in all 50 states. This pro gun anti big government party is poised to take over from the Gelded Old Party.

Just leave the republicrats to wither on the vine without voters.

Now watch the nanny state types spew venom my way.

That will only push them further into the arms of the Chamber. What areas of agreement do we have with the Chamber? Emphasize those, get your funding and win.
