Sub-Heading-- "The Texas senator wants to establish a constitutional amendment that protects states that define marriage as being between a man and a woman from legal action. "
These votes are important. Real people stand up for their beliefs. I suspect you know that. If you transmit that your a wimp, you’ll have to fight three times as hard just to get even.
You can’t change the definition of conservatism just to suit your desire to denigrate Cruz.
Unless you have an agenda, most people know that this vote did not make a difference. We all know where Ted stands on her appointment.
You are too "concerned" about an inconsequential vote. Senators do miss votes now and then.
You don't seem very concerned about the ones that voted to approve her.
You’re trying to say Cruz is “a wimp” because you know he’s the only one who isn’t.
There is another thread for the vote you two are arguing about.
Just sayn.

It would not have made a damned bit of difference!
He KNEW that, even if you did not.
I would have walked out as well.
Who was their name tainted by another Marxist scum?
Symbolism over Intelligence? PAhleeze!
“You don’t seem very concerned about the ones that voted to approve her.”
Because he’s not concerned about them.
I don't think it's enough to say Cruz is the most conservative Senator. He needs to be vetted too. Republicans have a proven record as traitors. If his feet are not held to the fire over this, we will all regret it.
I agree with you. Ted Cruz should have registered his NO vote on the Loretta Lynch confirmation. When you have somebody like Loretta Lynch, who is just fine with unlimited executive power, up for a vote, you should be there to cast your NO vote, even if you know you cannot win. You will be doing right by your constituents.
He was there when it mattered. He gave an amazing speech to the Senate explaining why they should not vote for Lynch. He voted NO on cloture. Once that was voted on the fix was in. Whether he stayed or not he had lost that battle with the Senate. I’m sure he was disgusted with the lot of them.
The so-called Conservatives who let us down were the repubs that voted for her approval like Ron Johnson.
Now if he had voted YES on cloture I’d be done with him. He did a great job interviewing her and holding her feet to the fire during her hearings. The Senate and House are as corrupt as corrupt can be. I’m sure he was more than disgusted with the lot of them and it surely wasn’t a secret as to where he stood on the issue.
Keep beating that broken drum all the way to the election.
During the gathering, according to two people present, Mr. Cruz said he would not love his daughters any differently if one of them was gay.
Well would you stop loving one of your children because they were gay? I wouldn’t. But I would make clear that if they acted on those feelings I would not approve. But I would not withhold my love from them.
He has stated time and again, in front of any group, that he believes gay marriage is a State’s issue.
You strike me as someone who can’t wait to find something to nail Cruz with. You’re trying a bit too hard on this one and it’s pretty obvious.
So by voting against cloture he preemptively surrendered, did he?
That’s an interesting theory. Wrong, but interesting.
You don’t seem to have any problem with the “conservatives” that voted for cloture, or the “conservatives” that voted to confirm her, but you want to pillory the the conservative that voted against cloture, which, after all, is the vote that mattered, isn’t it?
You should realize what you’re doing.
No they didn’t. The yellow-backed cowards that elected them knowing what garbage they were, did. I’m breaking my self imposed exile for this post because the past few days have been to much. And here is all these ‘staunch conservatives’ on FR YET AGAIN doing their damned best to sodomize the best chance America has to begin fixing itself. And not one mod, Nor JR takes out this trash.
And people wonder why Americs is screwed. Hint: It ain’t just Liberals.
Conservatism, if this is what people call conservatism, deserves everything it brings on itself. A bunch of gutless idiots that can’t wait for the RINO savior to vote for. AGAIN.
We now return you all to your regularly scheduled suicide. And most of you are welcome to it.
Only problem is he ended up with this silly issue, that just makes him look like and idiot.
The only important vote was the "cloture" vote, to "close" debate, which required sixty votes, after which the final vote didn't matter, since it only required fifty votes plus VP Biden. Why should Sen. Cruz waste his time staying for that vote, particularly since he has already invested a great deal of political capital in his fight against the Lynch nomination?
Cruz was doing the right thing, courageously. Take that from those who understand what is going on.
Who? The only candidate I have made positive comments on is Cruz. Find any other candidate I supported. You can't, because I didn't. But I'm not going to give him a free pass to morph into Romney or McCain. I don't understand why conservatives would. The only way you can hope to keep a candidate honest is perpetually keep the pressure on to be conservative.
Unless you have an agenda, most people know that this vote did not make a difference. We all know where Ted stands on her appointment.
That's loser talk, ans that's the talk of McConnell and Boehner. Cruz was elected to be a Senator not whatever he was doing. His not being there sent a powerful message to Congress. Senators do miss votes now and then.
Yes, but they never miss one important and one they made a big deal about. Do you want a fighter as president or a wimp? You don't seem very concerned about the ones that voted to approve her.
Sadly, those Senators have proved what they are already. Cruz' whole selling point was he's a conservative, not. "I'm slightly better than McConnell and Flake." Am I wrong. Even RINOs like McCain and Murkowski voted against Lynch. Cruz is supposed to be better than them
Did I say anything factually incorrect?
The main difference between me and you is you are trying to push Cruz to the left and I am trying to push him to the right. Is that what you really want?
What are you some kind of retard or something??
