Unless you are shilling for a candidate, you must not understand Senate procedure. I very much hope it is the latter.

The only important vote was the "cloture" vote, to "close" debate, which required sixty votes, after which the final vote didn't matter, since it only required fifty votes plus VP Biden. Why should Sen. Cruz waste his time staying for that vote, particularly since he has already invested a great deal of political capital in his fight against the Lynch nomination?

Cruz was doing the right thing, courageously. Take that from those who understand what is going on.

If he was courageous, he would have been there today, on the record. Even McCain, Mr. RINO, did that.

Where in the Senate rules does it say that Senators only show up for cloture votes?
