Video of Interview with Texas Tribune Reporter
In light of a New York Times report that GOP presidential contender Ted Cruz took a different tone on same-sex marriage at a Wednesday reception at the home of two gay businessmen, here's a look at his comments on the topic to Tribune reporter Jay Root.
At the reception, the Times reported, Cruz said he would be OK with his daughters being gay, and did not bring up his personal opposition to gay marriage.

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton |

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792 |

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams |
|
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

As a politician, he gave the constitutional answer.
Personally, I would like to see him go deeper, explaining that marriage laws must be upheld by the State to reinforce the lifetime marital relationship, voluntarily entered into by a man and woman, for the primary purpose of begetting and raising children.
The heart of the issue regards the right of children to be raised by their natural parents.
I understand why he took this approach, and maybe it is the most prudent approach, leaving the deeper answer for clergy and other community leaders to answer.
But somebody HAS to do it, otherwise we will lose the argument for good.

I’d like to know why gay people insist on redefining marriage. It is what it has always been from the beginning, between one man and one woman.
If gays are given the legal protections of a civil union, which they are, that should be enough already.

Death of the Church and moral absolutism.

Acceptance of open homosexuality is associated with societies in decline. The late Roman, high islamic, and 1930s English all accepted open faggotry.
The demise of these societies is well known.
None of them went so far as to force fag marriage.

If the Supreme Court rules that gay marriage is a civil right, we are finished! How could anyone take the position that the 14th Amendment applies to gay marriage? With two justices having performed gay marriages and Justice Kennedy being close friends with a married gay couple, I’m SURE there will be impartiality.

I’d love to see the media go after the lefties for their socialist stands on issues.
Wouldn’t that be great?
Why are you for communism democrat? Whay do you like fascism so much? Why is the state better at doing things than private business democrat?
Yeah, I know, fantasy world.
