I’m not in the field; I’m at a desk. And I should be working on a few cases that are sitting here instead of rambling on the internet. But I have reached a point where I pretty much do what I want.

That sounds like a statement of triumph.

Thank you for this thoughtful and thought provoking essay. It obviously took some time to put together, but it's an important contribution to this project.

As always, I learned something. For instance, I did not know about the two plays.

42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." "

Yes, And He just might give a quiz on The Sermon on the Mount.

In the Gospels, much reference is given to Jesus going through the towns of Galilee, teaching. Other than His parables that are individually recounted, the specific teachings are not recounted. I think of the “Sermon on the Mount” as His slideshow. I’m guessing it was delivered more than once and is what the Apostles referred to when they say “Jesus taught and the people were amazed at his teachings.” It suffices to recount once in its entirety in Matthew 5-7. The various parables are the amplifications to the slides.

That’s how I look at it anyway.

Why, thanks. At this point in my career as a prolific suburban housewife, I can cut myself some slack unless someone is throwing up or bleeding or needs to be taken to an academic, athletic, or social event or I have to go to Walmart again.

I spent a couple of hours at the corner emergency clinic this afternoon with #6 Son, who has been throwing since Monday. They gave him a shot, and he’s doing better now. Tough little devil.

Within the last six months I saw something on the Net, maybe here, that Germans are by far the largest national group in the American population, considerably larger than English.

BTW, I also hope that couple got to England and had long and happy life. What a way to meet; lots more interesting than my blind date story.

That’s a neat way of putting it. My prayer group will like it.

“Two hours after his escape, the First Army captured the camp.”

Talk about bad timing! If we knew his name, we might be able to find out more about them. Google turns up lots of women named “Ella Hille,” but none with a 1920s birth date, offhand.

36 “But about that day [Greek "hemeras"=day] or hour [Greek "horas"=hour] no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come...the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

Nevertheless, I conclude it's now clear He will come this century, and it will soon become obvious in which decade, then the specific year, month, and finally the week. We will know if we relate the events to His Word.

* the appearance of the escalating signs of the end, as predicted by Jesus
>>>I think this one can be found at any time, sometimes even more so than today.

Actually, a reputable study done in the mid-1980s found a recent unprecedented acceleration of earthquakes, wars, etc., which then leveled off--it couldn't have continued accelerating without wiping out everyone.

* the technology, finally, as predicted by Daniel and Jesus, to take the Gospel to the entire world, via safe worldwide transport, television/radio, and internet.
>>>Our true global reach is a novelty, but people in the past didn't realize how much of the world they were unaware of.

The world's size was well-known two millennia ago, and the explorers through the centuries never reached vast uninhabited (but habitable) regions suggesting that all peoples had been discovered. Those who didn't know just didn't want to know.

Gone beyond my study-level.

I’m sure we can agree that if it happens, it will have happened!

It’s very much my pleasure conversing with you. As I mentioned to henkster a couple of days (not decades or months) ago, I’m looking forward to meeting you in heaven and extending our friendship. It’s my understanding there are no war-time shortages there!

I also look forward to sitting down with many people with whom my space-time continuum ... that materialistic obfuscation ... didn’t align.
