For instance, earlier in April the company announced it is testing out a larger, pricier, third-of-a-pound burger for $5, two years after dropping the similar Angus burger line because they were too pricey for McDonalds diners. Despite that earlier failure, new CEO Steve Easterbrook expressed confidence his customers would go for premium burgers.
I often describe McDonalds as possibly the most democratic -- with a small d -- brand in the world, he said. And what customers love the world over, and none more so than here in the U.S., is how they can buy into aspirational quality products, but at a McDonalds price.
But he faces an uphill battle in winning over the millions of burger-eaters in the U.S. that have a dim view of McDonalds offerings: Nations Restaurant News published a survey this month rating 111 limited-service chains on 10 attributes including food quality, and McDonalds was ranked No. 110, ahead only of Chuck E. Cheese. In-N-Out Burger topped the list.

they stretched out in the wrong direction....and with arms that size it took a while to recoup the losses I guess

Wow. Judging from the FReeper comments on other related threads, he doesn’t have a clue. He’ll make a fortune when he gets bought out of his contract in a year or two.
So much for those $15 an hour jobs.
...dropping the similar Angus burger line because they were too pricey for McDonalds diners. No, they just sucked.
People don’t want a bigger burger. McDonald’s was pushing these things today. People want the beef to be the way it used to be. What has happened to it? Is it that they are cutting out all the fat? Or Monsanto feed? Or something else? It’s not just McDonald’s. Beef everywhere turns to sawdust in your mouth.
Reserve police forces activated to deal with the inevitable McNugget rampages.
It's the pink slime they're adding to it.
stop changing the ingredient to cater to anti-fat crowd and making your food taste horrible
They catered to the black demographic and alienated their white base
White people dom’t go to them much because itsl ike walking through Harlem at midnight
Supersize Me sure didn’t help
The minimum wage increases caused by the liberal activists / unions and Obamacare put the stake through their heart
“In-N-Out Burger topped the list.”
I’m really lucky to have a Chick Fil A and In N Out within a block of each other, at walking distance. McD’s is only good with their value burgers like the Mcdouble for $1.39. You cant beat that if you’re a student on a tight budget.

It’s more than that. The wonderful sesame beef I used to get at the Chinese restaurant has the same great coating but then turns to something unchewable. Steaks, burgers, they’re all changed. I’ve been searching for articles on this but I can’t find any.
The American public ain’t lovin’ it their hike of the minimum wage, therefore furtune ( Mo money, mo money, mo money ) to junk prices, and their embrace of the homosexual agenda.....
The only 2 things that got going for them is the Big Mack and their fries..... That’s it... The rest of their food is crap...
Greasy lizzard steak hamburgers with soy and conola oil fried cooking... Yuk...
McDonalds would win me back if they brought back the McD.L.T. Anyone remember those? Great, great burger.
More and More McDonald’s is being associated with the Ghetto crowd.
“People want the beef to be the way it used to be.”
Indeed. Nothing worse than a microwaved Mcdee’s cheeseburger that has unmelted cheese and is cold in the center.
And here in Texas, in addition we have What-a-Burger.
Thought it was shredded up paper with the soy mixed in with the beef...
Either way, their patties taste crappy, but some how they still make the Big Macks taste good..
They were a good value at 99 cents. At a buck fifty (with tax) not so much. The dollar drinks are a good deal, but people just stop for the drinks, and skip the food, which defeats the point of a loss-leader.
