Liberals Sputter As Scott Walker Proposes Bold New Immigration Platform

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a likely 2016 GOP presidential candidate, is marching forward with his bold new pro-American worker immigration policy. He’s not afraid to push for a legal immigration system that doesn’t box out American workers with a massive influx of inexpensive foreign labor.

After first rolling out his new ideas on Glenn Beck’s radio program on Monday, Walker appeared on Fox News’ Megyn Kelly’s show to further elaborate on how he hopes to protect Americans economically from special interests pushing for a massive influx in cheap foreign labor from around the world.

“When it comes to immigration, as a governor I don’t have any direct role in that—but having talked to border state governors and having talked to other people, seeing how screwed up immigration has become under this president, it was clear to me talking to them and listening on this issue, traveling to the border actually going there with the governor of Texas Gov. Abbott, seeing the problems there, yeah from my standpoint going forward we need to secure the border, we need to enforce the laws that we currently have with an e-verify system,” Walker said.

“You’re pretty much in line with the other Republican candidates on this,” Kelly asked as a follow-up.

“Well the one thing they’re not saying is we need to make sure as part of that any future legal immigration system that goes forward has to account for American citizens and the workers of this country and their wages to make sure that even with legal immigration in this country we respond to it in a way that doesn’t take jobs away from hardworking Americans,” Walker added, separating himself from the rest of the 2016 field.

"This is what I observe to be the fundamental difference between Ted Cruz and Scott Walker."

With all due respect to Cruz, he has never had to run an entire state. He is a lawyer and they specialize in arguing. And, further, they are as elastic as a person can be. So, I may prefer a person who is slogging it out in the trenches, dealing with unions and liberals and other crazies over a person who can pontificate. And, BTW, Cruz said he would do away with the IRS which is an absolute, utter boneheaded thing to say. He would just have to create a New Tax Collection Dept., the TCD and START ALL OVER no matter what tax system we had. But, if Cruz and Walker were on the ticket, I would still vote for them.

“The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight,” he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation.

The act of not enforcing, is an act of circumvention.

It doesn’t matter what the intent of the illegal is.

They are here illegally.

We don’t want to establish a two tiered system. It breeds contempt and the desire to stick it to the upper class.

This whole thing is a festering blister ready to explode and infect the whole body.

Thanks for your graphic. It’s sad it has to come to deportation, but then this was always the end out come by their choice. Take care.

Exactly. How simple is this concept...

This is what disturbs me. He knew this type of thing was taking place in his state, and yet he still couldn’t see the need to clamp down and send folks back to their home nations.

“Well find a way to let them stay.”

That’s not citizen friendly IMO.

Have you heard Walker state he is not interested in enforcing current immigration law?

Well, you’re another person who is upset that Scott’s own words tripped him up.

He is not Barack Obama, and I’m not an idiot White woman sympathetic because of latent guilt over slavery.

I’m a Conservative, and I expect to see and hear truth from those I support.

I expect no less from you.

Also, it *absolutely* matters what are the intentions of people within our borders whether here illegally or not. A good many people who are legal citizens are intent on undermining the rule of law as manifest in our Constitutional Republic. Do we just let them carry on since they are “legal?”

Well, I truly don't know what a “true” conservative is to be frank. I listen to some on this db and I have to have some sort of religion behind me which I do not have and I have to say no way to certain things which I think are very private and personal decisions as life is way too short and in some cases dangerous and painful. Having said that I do feel comfortable on this db and I have a lot of similar values as many on here. When it comes to politicians, may they be right or left, I do not really trust any of them as their whole goal is to get elected and stay elected. When it comes to illegal immigration, I truly think enforcing the laws already on the books against all of these companies who hire them and also enforcing the laws down at the border would slow the flow of illegal persons, would make a lot of people go back to their home countries and would also slow down the drug trade. Show me the politician who would not only say that but you know would actually do it and I think you would have a winner.

Listen to the interview and determine that for yourself.

I don’t like his stance. He lied about it. He knows there are a lot of people out here who disagree with him.

It dose not matter what the mindset of the illegal alien is.

They are subject to deportation. End of story.

A car runs a red light and is struck by another car. You’re asking what the driver was thinking. He’s still dead.

It makes no difference.

I agree with your comments.

I’m not positive there is a guy out there like that.

I don’t like someone lying to me, especially if they want my vote which is a an act of trust.

We can wish it were that simple. An illegal alien is not a car running a red light and killing someone. The only thing the two have in common is breaking the law. The law is not to be applied with total rigor under all circumstances, unless you are talking about God’s Law which operates with no exception unless one trusts in Christ.

The point is, the penalty for being an illegal is to be sent back home.

The question of what they were thinking is irrelevant.

The people in the car are dead.

The question of what they were thinking is irrelevant.

I believe you may be surprised to read in the law that expulsion from the USA is not a legal requirement for anyone and everyone found to be here illegally. Have you read and studied current immigration law, or are you spouting principle off the top of your head?

Under Article IV Section 4, the U. S. government is charged with protecting the states from invasion.

With thirty million illegals here and counting, perhaps you can also reason that there is no invasion.

Good luck with that.

Conservatives I know aren’t having a problem determining what the proper thing to do with illegal aliens.

John McCain, Ted Kennedy, George Bush, Barack Obama... not so much. If you believe in these people’s political views, that’s your right.

Just don’t get upset when I realize you aren’t equipped to make reasoned judgments on simple issues.

Where do you get your 30 million figure? I don’t care for McCain, Kennedy, Bush, or Obama when it comes to upholding the rule of law in terms of immigration. Nevertheless, it stands as fact that the law does not prescribe immediate expulsion of illegal immigrants. In fact few, if any, laws demand immediate application to the letter. Don’t get upset when you find out reality does not comport with your wishes.

So you aren’t able to grasp Article IV, Section 4.
