Father died a few hours ago.
Veteran of Saipan.
It has not quite hit me yet. I was care giver 24/7 for both my parents for seven years. My mother went two years ago.
Just drinking.
You have our prayers. Recall all that is good about him and pass that on.
Very sorry for your bereavement. Prayers for you and your family...
Good on you Pro. Your advice (Drink tonight and then just remember the good times tomorrow.) was good.
My Father was an MP in WWII I was 16 when he died in 79. My neighbor Ray was in the battle of Saipan, when I took him to the Dr. for a heart attack the Dr. discovered fresh scars on his chest and looked at me, bewildered as if he was a cutter. Ray explained that the scars from crawling on the coral never heal and he has had those scars ever since. Ray never complained, never asked for help and kept those horrors of the war to himself.
Eternal rest grant unto Ray and our Dads, and
and may perpetual light shine upon them.
May their souls and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God,
Rest in peace.
I am thinking of Ray and our Dads together in heaven, my Dad and as it turns out Ray also, liked to hunt pheasant, maybe they are doing that now?
I really would like to thank each and every one of you who expressed your kind thoughts.
It is comforting to know that even strangers would do this.
My Dad was proud of his miliary service and wished to have military honours. Unfortunately, we are told no one is available for this Friday. I guess this is just a sign of the times.
Again, thank you for the outpouring of sentiment and your prayers.
That is sad that of those most deserving he will not have an earthly honor guard but know that along with your Mother those that welcome him home will be innumerable.
Continued prayers for you and your family
Prayers lifting for you FRiend, with gratitude for your Dad’s service as well.
Dear Lord, hold this good man close, in this time of sorrow.
Tatt
Please don't overdo the drinking - that won't help in the long run.
I still miss my Dad even though he died in 1993. We were the primary caregivers from my Mom who died just last fall. You never stop missing them, but you honor their memories and think how happy they are to be together again and how they are looking forward to reuniting with you when your time arrives.
Just saw this and wanted to extended my heartfelt sympathies. As someone who also took care of my parents and my late husband for many years, I know how taxing it is both physically and emotionally. Carve out some serious downtime for yourself to rest and recover. You’ll be better off for it.
Your parents were blessed to have a faithful caregiver in you. Prayers for you in your time of sadness. I also ask the Lord’s blessing for your devotion to your parents.
Thanks for your note.
Unfortunately, no time to rest.
Broke and need a job ASAP
Lord God, rest Thy servant with the saints and comfort his son.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Sorry for your loss sir. Lost mom a few years ago. It hurts.
You are so in my prayers... write whenever you need someone to ‘talk’ to...
Thank you.
I’m sorry, I just saw this. I lost my dad 12 years ago. You are in my prayers.
My condolences.
