Not sure I understand what the problem is with his statement
Safety is the number one responsibility of gun ownership.
Further, that’s not even a middle of the road statement and takes into account the emotions of a staff member who lost his kid in that veil and heinous act.
There is a LOT of evidence that Sandy Hook was theater. Sandy Hook Elementary itself hadn't been used for years.
Newtown is Spook Central. Everybody there works for the CIA, NSA, FBI, you name it.
Nothing about Sandy Hook ads up, other than Obola needed a tragedy like Dunblane to shove gun control through.
The problem is, the group for whom he is doing the benefit is not even a little bit sincere about promoting firearms safety.
Nothing is safer than no gun. It is like speeding. Speed kills. Going slow is not safe” it is only “safer” than going fast. But even a slow speed is more dangerous than no speed at all.
The same logic will be applied to guns. IF safety is your priority than no guns is your safest bet.
My priorities are home defense, safe travel, tyrannical rulers, and hunting. Carrying and using a gun is an unsafe act (compared to no gun) it should only occur to prevent an even greater unsafe act.
I’ll say it again. Congress needs to pass common sense federal gun legislation.
Tax credits for those purchasing gun safety gun safes.

Tax credits for taking gun safety marksmanship training.
Tax credits for purchasing gun safety training rifles, pistols, and shotguns.
