About 300 US paratroopers have arrived in Ukraine to train the Ukrainian National Guard which is fighting pro-Russian rebels in the east, the US army said in a statement.
The troops from the 173rd Airborne Brigade arrived on Tuesday and Wednesday in Yavoriv, western Ukraine, to spend six months training three battalions of Ukrainian troops, said the statement dated Thursday.

Agreed. It wasn’t a treaty. However I can’t help but feel Ukraine assumed American and British help if the Russians invaded. Also, what good were the Ukraine nukes if they did not have operational controls? I’m not knowledgeable enough to understand how that works

Nope. No Ukrainians killing in Russia. OTOH, we have Russian filth kidnapping, torturing and committing mass murder in Ukraine.

Why are we there at all? Shouldn’t Europe step up and handle the problem on its “border?”

Very concerned about the situation. Putin seems a little unstable. While I understand Russia's historical fear of invasion, putin is talking about nuke use like it is just another weapon, selling SAMs to Iran, chronically initiating aircraft incursions, and killing/arresting enemies while using propaganda to get 80 percent support. I think he wants the empire back. And I think we have the WRONG president at this time In history. Plus, the Ukraine soldiers are putting up fiercer resistance than expected from what I've read. Don't know what to make of the whole situation. Also suspicious that Soros wants to put up one billion dollars as long as its guaranteed. What nerve.

Both sides were promised stuff, because nobody wanted those darn Ukranians to have nukes. The deal was made to prevent Ukraine from selling their nukes to the highest bidder on the black market, which was what they were doing with the rest of their military hardware.
No one trusted the Ukrainians then and nothing in their short sordid history as a 'democracy' rebuts that consensus.

Someone, anyone, what is it about a binding agreement with a foreign government that makes it a treaty or not a treaty?

The article says they will be training three “national guard” battalions. But it didn’t name them. Is it one of the Nazi maidan militias, or actual Ukrainian army?
Sick to think of Americans involved with azov or others under the wolfsangel symbol.

Let's apply some logic here. Okay.
Split Ukraine in half....
LOL
You said you were going to apply simple logic.

As Sen. Cruz says, arm and help the Ukrainians as much as we can.
To: 1rudeboy
I’m sure our local Putniks would love Ukraine if only they threatened nuclear war and flew military aircraft with transponders turned off into civilian airliner routes.
