At the end of March, two weeks before he declared his candidacy for President, Marco Rubio visited New York Citys Upper West Side to meet the moneyed class and hand out his new book American Dreams: Restoring Economic Opportunity for Everyone. In a gorgeous apartment overlooking the Park and the Museum of Natural History, Mr. Rubio delivered a spellbinding speech, skewering the president and articulating a cohesive worldview, especially in the arena of foreign policy. The smart and funny senator from Florida also took questions on all topics, impressing the room of well-heeled elites, plus journalists like Bret Stephens and John Podhoretz, with the poise that has earned him a reputation as the best communicator in the Republican Party.
The son of a bartender and a housekeeper who emigrated from Cuba, Marco Rubios life story reads like something out of a fairy tale.
Less well known is Mr. Rubios skill as a burlesque performer.
What you see below is a photograph from South Miami Senior High Schools annual talent competition.
The team nickname at South Miami Senior High School, which Mr. Rubio was graduated from in 1989, was the Cobras. Every year there was a male talent competition for King Cobra and in 1989, Mr. Rubio and some of his football teammates wowed the crowd with a Chippendales style dance routine. Thats him in front of the O in Cobra with the washboard abs (eat your heart out, Aaron Schock!).
In his first book, American Son, Mr. Rubio discusses the King Cobra contestbut not this one. Recounting how he sang the Lionel Ritchie weeper Still, Rubio says he had a decent singing voice and so decided to sing his number instead of lip synch. For laughs, I adopted an obnoxiously braggadocio personality. I strutted around the stage, smirked, threw my microphone and stalked offstage after I finished the song. My friends got the joke. The judges did not they voted me second to last. The Chippendales performance didnt make it into the memoir.
Marco Rubio and classmates vie for the title King Cobra at South Miami Senior High.
I don’t think that this will hurt Rubio. He was/is a pretty cute kid!
I’m no Rubio fan but this is stupid.
They pulled this on Romney and GW Bush too — going back to HS to try to dig up negative behavior.

Obama’s pot and cocaine is okay.
Vote for Ted Cruz!
Whatever happens, we should not let the press take down any candidate on our side. Let then win or lose based upon ideas and competancy.
Amazing what the media can find when the media wants to find it.
Yet, we still know nothing about Obama.
Will Khent endorse Rubio now?
My gosh. THIS is a thing to someone?
After his post election performance, how could the promote him without calling attention to his betrayal ... other than in stupid ways?
It’s fluff like this or just let him fade mercifully into the sunset.
You get the Blue Ribbon for your post!
Is this the best that the commie ‘RAT fags can do? LOL!
He is a divisive candidate who was obviously lying from his first campaign tour.
The only question was to whom? Was he lying to Americans who want a secure border? Or was he lying to LA Raza? Clearly he had major character problems either way to be delivering such antithetical speeches.
As it turned out he was telling the truth about his intentions to LA Raza.
Frankly, I want a candidate who wouldn't even address a group whose stated purpose was to advance “The Golden Race”.
So no.
For many people on the conservative side Marco Rubio is not and will never be an “our candidate.”
And that is entirely due to his words and deeds.
I like it make him look like cool kid in school somebody hang out with
Khent split town; he’s surfing with Duffy in Fiji.
I think (s)he gave up on US politics. I’m close behind...
