The Eisenhower Library is well worth a visit and is a pleasant way to break up the drive across Kansas.
The family home is on the campus and is decorated as it was when Ike was growing up there. IIRC, he kept a portrait of Washington in his room, who was Ike's boyhood hero. You can see a lot of similarities in their leadership styles.

Christopher Andrew, the author of The Mitrokhin Archive (1999), is an historian who believes that Joseph Stalin completely out-negotiated Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill at Yalta http://spartacus-educational.com/2WWyalta.htm
The pattern of the U.S. being outwitted and out-negotiated by the Russians continued unabated for another forty years until Reagan, who put the brakes on, declared a clear U.S. objective in the cold war ("We win, they lose"), and brought the USSR to its knees and dissolution.
