Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters may be showing up on television with increasing regularity, but they are still a relative rarity in mainstream movies released by the major Hollywood studios. In its third annual report about LGBT representation on film, GLAAD, the gay advocacy group, found that of the 114 releases from the major studios in 2014, only 20 of them, or 17.5 percent, included characters identified as lesbian, gay or bisexual.

Among the inclusive films, the report found, 65 percent of them featured gay male characters, less than a third featured bisexuals and about one tenth included lesbian characters. There was a slight increase in racial diversity with 32.1 percent of the characters being people of color, compared to 24 percent in 2013. Of the 28 characters GLAAD counted, 19 were white (67.9 percent), three were black/African-American (10.7 percent), two were Latin (7.1 percent), and four were Asian/Pacific Islander (14.3 percent).

quote “of the 114 releases from the major studios in 2014, only 20 of them, or 17.5 percent, included characters identified as lesbian, gay or bisexual.”
um... they are only 3% of the population, so they are already over represented by 14.5%.
These people (GLAAD) are under the mistaken assumption that if they cram enough homo tv and movie shows down the throat (pardon the metaphor) of America, non-homo people who are naturally revulsed by homo behavior will change their minds and eventually see it as normal. Not going to happen.
The classic Christian explanation is that it is demon driven.
Anyhow, none of this catches the Lord by surprise. The gospel invitation, and the accompanying warnings, remain the same. What we do with this is going to be what makes the difference.
Up to now there has been a lot of “live and let live” but when one side is hard nosed about not “letting live” it can’t go on forever that way.
I did the same- clicked off immediately and went back
to the Mets-Phils.
Is Scar gay in "The Lion King," or just effete? He didn't sire any cubs after killing his brother Mufasa and exiling his nephew Simba, but that may simply have been because the pride's lionesses couldn't stand him.
Is Mulan lesbian? (Probably not, based on the double-takes she makes at the drill instructor guy.)
Is Elsa of "Frozen" lesbian? "No one was getting ANYwhere with her," the villainous Prince Hans explains.
These questions are impossible to answer objectively.
I disagree with your examples (hunchback, mulan, and elsa) none of which were gay or could be considered so.
I do think some characters or funny side kicks could be considered gay in some disney films. The Genie in Aladin comes to mind.
An indication of a behind the scenes agenda at work. The globalist have deemed that a We The People Republic is a hindrance to their global one world governance, so they are dismantling America into a cesspool of factions. When ‘they’ collapse the economy, ‘they’ expect that the chaos of starvation, disease, and wholesale murder will end the blessings God bestowed upon America, opening the gate for their totalitarian rule over the planet. Bzrezinsky might even smile from Hell at the accomplishment of his technocratic society.
Your comment is polite right up until you tell me that these characters “could [not even] be considered” gay — that it is not worthy of discussion.
Keep such comments to yourself.
Your post bears repeating: This was my thought, too. “This would seem to be a great economic opportunity for GLAAD to form their own studio and make tons of money producing films loaded up with gays. The public is just desperate for their product. /sarc”
I think we all realize now that getting rid of the sodomy laws for queers was a huge mistake. Keep your children protected for the freaks are coming after them.
This is not an insuperable problem, and there are more possible ways to meet the challenge than “wipe out or be wiped out.”
But to take advantage of the gospel answer, people have to first accept the gospel personally and let it deal significantly with their own sins. This can take a long time.
I think one key insight here is that the rage of man cannot conquer the rage of man. Someone is going to have to preach the way of peace, which “when angry does not sin.” This plays into God’s authority rather than into the devil’s authority.
Never watched it.
Now I never will.................
You forgot one.....................
I hardly ever watch network TV. Just History Channel, DIY, Speed , Discovery and NFL network.....................
Frankly — that, at best, was a Band-Aid, a symptomatic fix. Almost nobody was bothering to enforce that.
I see the possibility of a different and (hear me out) better plan being brought down the road by the Lord. “We the people” have a rage problem. Rage, mixed with sex, produces perversions. Sometimes it takes the consequences to force people to their knees before the Lord. No law can fix this kind of heart problem, and frankly civic woes are a distant second concern to eternal woes, which is where this is going.
I’ve NEVER been able to sit through that movie. Never!
“Alright, that’s it! I’m outta here!”
