Since California Democratic Governor Jerry Brown imposed water restrictions on the states residents on April 1, people have suddenly become interested in what government officials have described as one of the most severe droughts on record.
But for months, Republican Assemblywoman Shannon Grove -- who represents part of Kern County, the second largest agricultural sector in the country has been trying to get the word out about how Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations apparently are literally draining water into the sea all for the sake of a three-inch fish.
I put together this short video to explain the real cause of Californias water shortage problems, which everyone is paying attention to now that the Governor has imposed water restrictions on the entire state, Grove wrote on her Facebook page on April 3, the day she reposted the video she first published back in September.
Share it with your friends who need to know the truth, Grove wrote.
The truth, Grove said, is that the Endangered Species Act and its effort to protect the tiny delta smelt has taken water away from farmers.

The list, Ping

I never understood why they couldn’t build side ponds alongside the rivers that they could fill up with water without having to use dams if they are so concerned about damns...
These same schmucks believe in evolution but cannot expect the delta smelt to adapt to a new river configuration....
I guess they don’t ACTUALLY believe in evolution...
What happened during the last ice age, i am sure the delta smelt had to adapt to the river then...

The same people whose marijuana plants are drying up the fresh water creeks.
it wasn’t about dams, it is about power.
epa isn’t about science, it is about power.
Communists leveraged environmental movement to take power.
If republicans want to win in 2016 they need to get a green party candidate to take away votes from hillbill. A young version of Ralph.

exactly right, about power. one possible explanation is to destroy the natural food source because of lack of water, then, it gets built back up again by people like monsanto, with patented, genetically engineered seeds.
The whole state of California has been completely buffaloed by these bureaucrats in the EPA. Instead of fighting them, the whole population just laid down in submission. Once these Washington bureaucrats realized that they can get away with anything and every thing, they started on the other states. The states that fought back, the EPA backed down. I have one thing to tell these people of California. You cannot depend on your elected officials to fight for you, cause they are part of the problem. It’s up to all you citizens of California to fight back.
What society honors madmen?
That's the most ludicrous and idiotic statement I've read this election cycle.
The worst part of this nonsense is that the so-called delta smelt is not native to the delta. It is a bait fish, accidentally introduced into the system by fisherman fishing for bass.
Leftist Malthusian Poverty-Inducing Scarcity Machine at work.
“What happened during the last ice age, i am sure the delta smelt had to adapt to the river then...”
Excellent thinking!
Lunch!
Go get samples of all the poor endangered whatsits and stop wasting water on them. When the drought ends and water flows let them loose again. (But this won’t happen as it is the Left’s best weapon to stop development and jobs.)
