I hadn’t, but I’m not the least surprised. So far our Democrat in Republican clothing governor for life has given us a 45% increase in the gas tax, more of the homosexual agenda in the schools, more Common Core, more dead babies, no action against out of control judges, more state spending, etc. And that’s just since his reelection last year.

I recognize Muslim Day on Sept. 11.
Sadly, Iowa’s Republican Governors have been polluted by RINOs going back six decades: Branstad, Ray, Erbe, Hoegh. You’d probably have to go back to William Beardsley (1949-54) or Robert Blue (1945-49) to the last remotely non-leftist Republican Governors. Erbe & Hoegh were tossed out after single two-year terms (Hoegh for jacking up taxes, Erbe for blaming “Conservative Democrats” (!) in the State Senate for opposing his agenda, paving the way for Harold Hughes).
No doubt in 2018, just like in 1998, Branstad will probably help elevate a Democrat to succeed him.
Wow, yesterday we learned that the Iowa General Assembly opened with a wiccan praying. Today they have declared a Muslim holiday. I guess when Hillary gets there they’ll sacrifice a goat.
These are the real muslims. The ones that will do the actual damage. Not the convict converts that not even the real muslims themselves can't stand. Other than to use them and get them out of their hair. But, at the end of the day, the good people of Iowa said, via their votes, that the present Governor was their choice. So, evidently they approve of his action[s].
That or get the hell out. Either way, they need to prepare.

No, it is Separation of Church and State. muslims and State is o.k. It is these Christians and Jews that cause all the problems. Both are now safe to consider as sub humans. Eliminate them and everything is peachy. The concept is not a new one. Hitler adopted it with some success in Germany and Eastern Europe from 1934-45.

However, this year was special, because it was the second year in a row that local Muslims were permitted to hold a public event at the Statehouse designed to “combat Islamophobia.”
Islamophobia. Since phobia would indicate a fear of something then I think we should all have this phobia. If Islam isn’t something to fear then I don’t what is. There is only ONE Islam and ISIS is practicing it right now. The so-called moderate Muslim community that has invaded this country is a farce. One Islam and only ONE Islam. This is something that cannot be overlooked because of political correctness. PC is the tool that is going to be used against us and we will lose!

A phobia is an irrational fear of something. Fearing Islam is not irrational at all, quite the opposite, in fact.

My only suggestion is to hold this event on September 11... every year.
It tends to follow the rule that a Democrat usually follows a RINO in the Governorship. Hence, had Branstad been a solid Conservative, it’s likely Jim Ross Lightfoot would’ve succeeded him in 1999. Problem is that Branstad should never have served 16 consecutive years as a Governor (and with his additional 2 terms, will be up to a jaw-dropping 24). Had he retired in 1994 (or done the right thing and took on Harkin after the conclusion of 2 terms in 1990), Fred Grandy could’ve then served 2 terms, and either delayed or stopped Vilsack from winning.
This was why I opposed Branstad’s return to the Governorship (ditto for the late Bill Janklow in neighboring SD, albeit for slightly different reasons).
As for Erbe, just another pol who thought bigger government was the answer to Iowa’s problems. The nation is chock full of politicians in both parties that fall for that siren call.
And Erbe blamed “conservative democrats” for torpedoing him? LOL.
Well, at least Brandstad helped overthrow the Paultards who took over the state party organization and killed fundraising.
Seems like there were a lot of “prairie radical” North Dakoka NPL types in Iowa back in the day. Like Senator Smith Brookhardt. It seems that conservatives supported the dem Daniel Steck against him in 1924.
