Nashville - Speaking from the 144th annual NRA Annual Meetings Friday afternoon, potential GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson attempted to clarify his stance on the Second Amendment.
"For the record let me make it extremely clear that I am extremely pro-Second Amendment and that I would never allow anyone to tamper with that right," Carson said.
"We will never let the right to keep and bear arms be removed from those [generations] who follow us in this great nation," he continued.

You too, amazing.......
:-)
I know a lot of pro gun docs who like to shoot.
In the fwiw dept, I like and respect Dr. Carson.
I will vote and support Sen. Cruz. Oh, the First lady will also.
My wife is a lurker (for 16 yrs). See honey...

I don't think he is ready to be POTUS, and I also don't think he is the right person for this time. I will explain on this later when talking about Ted Cruz.
I am extremely thrilled that we have BRILLIANT minds in our conservative primary - a constitutional legal mind in Senator Ted Cruz, and a medical/scientific prodigy in Dr. Ben Carson.
We have strong, accomplished people like Dr. Ben Carson and Col. Allen West from an African American background, in the conservative movement.
I also think there was a cost to Dr. Carson for openly speaking up about "da won" and liberalism. He could have led a quiet life, respected and without the nasty attention of the liberal crazies.
I am guessing the ‘MD’ in your screename does not stand for Maryland, right? ;-)
doesn’t change the fact that doctors are more likely to be anti gun than any other subset of conservatives.....sheesh.
In this thread alone, one person said he “isn’t honorable” while you, yourself, referred to him as “a clown”.
I don’t know how the language works in your parts, but referring to someone as a clown is not exactly a character reference. “Isn’t honorable” speaks for itself.
I’m not going to dig for more, but they’re there. Granted, it’s politics and people do get wound up.
Not that I doubt you, but have you found polls that show that? I'd think that this would be something that is difficult to poll accurately.
My first two pistols were purchased from a doc who was also a FFL. He got me some great prices -- this was years before the interweb.
(I have read surveys that show physicians are politically all over the map. Pediatricians and psychiatrists tend to be liberal, surgeons are more likely to be conservative.)
As for Dr. Carson, he probably knew about as much about guns before he entered the political ring as most people know about brain surgery.
His hopes may improve if Hillary picks a black for VP.
This time it has to be a Hispanic. Never mind that the GOP has two Hispanic presidential candidates, that are highly regarded, but they don’t count. A Hispanic candidate for VP for the Democrats is smart politics for them and I guarantee that person will get far better press coverage even if Ted Cruz, or Marco Rubio were to get the GOP presidential nomination.
“Extremely”? Does he support nationwide right to buy a suppressed Glock 18 at list price with nothing more than a 5 minute NICS check?
Does he know what a NICS check is?
