But, but, but, the Volt was the 2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year.
Maybe the 2016 Volt will be the Motor Trend Car of the Century.

Back when GM was a PRIVATE COMPANY that would have mattered. I suspect that companies even in RUSSIA are better held accountable for performance.

SHOCKING! The Volt had such POTENTIAL. It was leading the CHARGE for eco friendly transportation. I guess the POSITIVE couldn’t outweigh the NEGATIVE. The CURRENT trends in lower gas prices led to RESISTANCE in new sales.... OK, I’ll quit...

The Kelly Blue Book value for a 2013 Volt in excellent condition is only $17,400.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum, Dodge Hellcats have outsold the Volt, and Dodge cannot keep up with demand.

This is simply the Osborne Effect in action. Yes, Volt sales have been low the past three months. But do you know what happened three months ago? GM announced the features of the 2016 Volt: increased electric range to 50 miles, added a fifth seat in the back, and 10% increase in mpg while in gasoline mode. To top it off, they are expected to lower the price as well.

The Volt fire scare turned out to be baloney. The fire only happened three weeks after the Volt was crash tested and only because the battery was not de-energized afterwards (kind of like not draining a leaking gas tank after a crash). If you get into a crash and it takes you three weeks to get out of the car, you have bigger problems to worry about.

New Volts are being sold for $30,000 and qualify for around $10,000 in rebates, depending on where you live. So you can basically get a new Volt for $20,000.

Obviously, FEDGOV will need to add a bunch of Volts to their fleet. (Like they did with Chrysler products after the bailout in the 80s)

THE CALIFORNIA DIRTY VOLT BLUES
Governor says I can’t wash my car
Needs that water for some Hollywood star
Can barely see out my windows to drive
And drinking washer fluid won’t keep you alive
I got them California Dirty Volt Blues
Got no water but great ocean views
My electric car don’t hardly use no gas
But without water, we’re all shot in the ass

Just drove from central Florida to Augusta, Ga. (Masters Golf) and back. Saw one Volt going North, and another one going south today.
Not very many on the road I’m afraid.

I stay in the Marriott hotels a lot and I see that they have started putting charging stations in the parking lots. However, I have never seen one actually being utilized.
Below is the promo photo on the Marriott website. This guy looks WAY too happy to be crammed inside a tiny electric car.
