An 18 month trial period allowing female Marines to attend the Marine Corps Infantry Officer Course will end without a single female graduate, reported the Marine Corps Times.
The opportunity for female volunteers is part of a larger effort to determine the feasibility of allowing female officers to take part in ground combat operations. If anyone had successfully completed the course, they would not have earned the occupational designator or entered the infantry, since the program was only an experiment.
The IOC began accepting female officers in September 2012, but by July 2014, only 20 female officers had volunteered, and none had completed the course. Only one volunteer made it through the initial Combat Endurance Test.
In October 2014 the Marine Corps broadened the requirements for applicants to encourage more volunteers, making hundreds more Marines eligible. But new applicants also had to have a first-class score on the male-version of the Physical Fitness Test.
Seven more women volunteered, and three managed to pass the Combat Endurance Test, but none successfully completed the course.
The most recent and final course began April 2 with two female officers, but both were dropped the first day after failing to complete the Combat Endurance Test, a spokesperson for Headquarters Marine Corps told the Marine Corps Times.
The goal was for 100 women to complete the course, but only 29 in total made an attempt, and none of them passed.
The number of volunteers, their pass rate and their performance will be considered along with other data, such as the success rate for female Marines in completing a separate Infantry training course in North Carolina.
The information will be compiled for Commandant Gen. Joseph Dunford Jr., who will make a recommendation to the Department of Defense on whether to allow female troops to take part in ground combat operations.
Without logistical support the infantry would grind to a halt.
To wardaddy, thanks for sharing your deep intellect.
this old lady agrees with you 100%. Don’t want any female that was gender normed to get into these professions any where near me.
Support the military and our nation’s defenses, not the feminists who don’t belong their in the first place and are hurting it.
Women are a serious problem in the military.
These women wasted our time and money, and wanted to hurt our ability to fight and to hurt the Marine Corps, and to feed their feminist politics over duty.
I question their being officers at all, they obviously put self over everything, each one of them was hoping that she would be the one, the glory hog to hurt the Marine Corps and our ability to win wars and cause deaths.
Women are not a serious problem in the military. There are plenty of slots women can fill, they are just not in combat arms.
Yes they are a serious problem in the military and are weakening it badly, and they are not at the goal of 50% yet. They introduce left wing politics, nurseries, gynecologists, they are expensive, get injured too much, and drag down the overall standards and capabilities.
They have been a drag since the left introduced them 40 years ago, they used to be limited by law to 2% or less, where they served in legal, nursing, medical, and finance.
They are not equivalent to men, and slow everything down and need help doing basic things, things as simple as moving material, changing a truck tire, lifting a large pot of soup, getting over a wall, lifting something up above their head, getting into a truck, putting up a large tent.
They are females replacing men, in work that requires men to reach maximum standards.
I expect Obama to announce that as C-in-C, the new slogan for the USMC will be “Every Marine a Social Worker”...I could imagine him banning the use of guns by Marines as lacking understanding and sympathy.
The Marine Corps was forced to offer the "opportunity" by non-military leftist bureaucrats for purely political purposes. Any female officer who would enter the program does not have the good of the Corps or the military at heart, any more than those who forced the program to be offered for political purposes in the first place have the good of the military at heart.
Only the USMC could withstand political correctness. They must indeed be patrolling Heaven.

Yes, I think you are right. But there are a lot of Boomers who have bought into some of the PC garbage.
Unfortunately, the left’s propaganda program has been quite successful in bringing about a lot of social change. Look how many people, for example, see nothing wrong with premarital or even non-marital co-habitation.
