The family of South Carolina police shooting victim Walter Scott is preparing to fire back at the killer cop with a civil suit.

“We will seek every penny of compensation that the family deserves,” state Rep. Justin Bamberg, who is representing the Scott family as a lawyer, told the Daily News on Thursday. “People in society are fed up with people getting away with things like this, fed up with law enforcement abusing the power that they have.”

i’m sure you would, and your mentality is a lot of what is wrong with this country. Used to be when a crime was committed, it was enough to punish the criminal. But no more, gotta sue and get rich off of the crime. Oh, and by the way, not to judgmental saying the civil servant was worthless. How do you know that, do you know him personally? His act was despicable, but does that mean he is worthless.

I despise some of the 60’s hippie terminology but in this case fully support calling this cop a pig for what he did.

“Crooks, no, opportunists, yes. Try reading the response to which I was responding. The cop isn’t going to be punished by the suit, only the taxpayer. So, yea, it has nothing to do with punishment, only an opportunity to get money.”

I tried and succeeded, thank you. I obviously disagree with your assertion, as evidenced by the way I stated my questions.

Try reading my example. I’ve found your explanation most common among the people who believe cops never lie, and who support the cops by essentially saying the family doesn’t deserve a payout because the cop won’t be punished anyway.

Apparently the monetary judgments aren’t big enough to be respected.

Here’s a link to news articles where you don’t need tv.
Apparently you have the internet.

Your reasoning is beyond me. To imply that I believe cops never lie or that the family doesn’t deserve a payout BECAUSE the cop won’t be punished anyway is a real leap. The cop not being punished statement went back to the original response to which I was responding. Obviously we disagree. You believe a family deserves a payout, I do not.

Are you even talking about the same crime? You’ve stated he was a 25 year old thug. He was a 50 year old man way behind on child support.
You’ve said there was news reports of drugs and weapons in the car and that he made a video stating he wanted to shoot a cop. Nowhere has that been reported in this case.
You mention (in jest) the cop shooting him 20 time. Not close.

I think you have made a fool out of yourself accidently. I believe you are thinking of a totally different case. At least I hope so....

It’s not hard work.
I just reject the concept of classes exempt from the expectations of society, and the decades old campaign by the professional do-gooders and academics who would have the Neanderthals set society’s rules and laws.
We all know, or should know where the “state of nature” leads.
Where there are no consequences, rules and expectations are meaningless.
There are thought-provoking discussions about that in the book, “Darwin Day.”

Ok then. A 50-year old thug.
A distinction without a difference.

Yup. A man who gets behind on his child support (as MANY white men do) is right on par with a gun-toting thug who does and deals drugs....

Riiiight.

Since he’s not a member of my family, no I don’t. The facts the race batters choose are the ones they agree with since the “facts” have been all over the place.
Perhaps we should all wait until all the facts are in and confirmed?

Oh yeah great plan. That one has enough holes that an arrow would pass through without damage.

The only value the poor soul ever had to society; i.e. a pay off to the parents. (It has been reported that he had 10 prior arrests and had a warrant out on him at the time of the shooting.)

***************************

I've heard only that he owed back payments on child support, which doesn't necessarily mean anything, given the current state of news reporting.

That is seriously humorous. I am just joining the frenzy of totally ignorant speculation and opinion masquerading as fact. Whether the thug was 25 or 75 is not central to anything, and totally irrelevant. I don’t even know what color shirt he was wearing, or what he had for breakfast.
Bottom line, no one can possibly know anything at this point other than the choices the two individuals made. Period.
Cops lie. Hoods lie. A long life’s worth of experience has taught me that the likelihood of a known hood lying is many times greater than that of a cop. I am tempted to question your judgement as to the need for cops at all.
If that is your solution, I can buy into that.
Since all cops are corrupt, what’s the point?

The one part you got correct in your post was, “totally ignorant”.

I never once said “all cops are corrupt”. Not once. This is once again you showing ignorance. Just as you did when you stated the “thug” had weapons, drugs and videos stating he was going to kill cops.
You aren’t even good at diverting. You just completely make up whatever you feel and state it as fact. I do hope you are just trolling....

Also, he had no papers establishing his ownership of the car he was driving at the time of the stop. From what I read Scott claimed he had just purchased the car-( a common claim by car thieves)Admitted he may have, in fact, owned the car)>

Your hatred of the police blinds you to a simple fact that his family is filing a Wrongful Death suit. In most states one element of damages for wrongful death is loss of the decedent’s financial support. It is reported that this man did not financially support his family thus allowing a claim that he is worthless. He reportedly had ten prior arrests indicating he was worthless to Society. Lastly, I have never commented on the actions of the Police Officer.

Interesting that people in America 2014 AD think in Marxist terms “Rich & Poor” Poor people can be worthless which is a factor in a “Wrongful Death” claim. He failed to financially support his family and cost society many tax dollars as a result of his ten priors.

Interesting that you can watch a low ranking union government agent murder a citizen, and you condemn the citizen as unworthy of life.

You are quite the little worm.
