A provision in a new Arizona law requiring doctors to tell women that their abortion may be reversible has made national headlines, incited outrage from abortion-rights groups, and sparked heated criticism from the medical community.
An almost identical provision in an Arkansas law signed this week by Gov. Asa Hutchinson has not seen much media coverage. Even the man who has pioneered the idea of abortion reversalsDr. George Delgadosaid he hadn't heard of the Arkansas law until National Journal informed him of it during a phone interview.
Delgado, medical director of Culture of Life Family Services in San Diego, has seen his share of media coverage recently, but says he has yet to speak to lawmakers about the Arizona and Arkansas requirements. He was informed of the Arizona bill just before it went to a vote in the state legislature there, and endorses the idea of the legislation.
"I think that abortion pill reversal, in our experience, has been shown to be a safe and effective treatment," Delgado said. "I think in different states, the best way to make women aware might be different, and so I think the most important thing is they be aware of this option."
But is it real? Can abortions be reversed?

It just really bothers me that about half the people I see when I’m going about think it’s a great idea to murder babies in the womb.
I’m dubious.
And Catholics believe using a condom and birth control is wrong/immoral.
I’m not saying I agree with abortion, but I am saying there are extremes in every scenario and that’s what people tend to fight over.
If we can limit abortions to only the first 8 weeks of pregnancy—I’d take that as a major win. And most Americans would probably accept that. It gives the woman enough time to realize she is pregnant and it’s still not too developed to cause outrage. I know someone can post a baby can feel at 8 weeks, but it’s a win over the current laws where people can get partial birth abortions.
After we have the 8 weeks on the books for a while we can revisit making it 6 weeks. We need to change the culture to win this one and taking reasonable steps to get there will take time.
I thought that informed consent was the standard for all medical procedures. If chemical abortion is in fact medically reversible for a certain time period, the professional baby killers would be legally and morally required to inform their victims before the mothers consent to having their babies killed. It also makes financial sense. The professional baby killers get paid for killing the baby, and then they double their profit whenever a mother pays to have that process stopped before the baby is dead. How can mercenaries who kill the unborn object to such a good deal?
I suppose...
Better not to take the abortion drug in the first place.
I just doubt there will be that many last-second mind-changes.
But more power to the doctor, if he can save even one life.
I just don’t see this technology making a dent in the ongoing holocaust.
Progesterone HAS been used to prevent spontaneous abortion. My younger daughter is alive because I was given progesterone to keep me from miscarrying.
It's still dead and causes outrage to God.
and everyone agrees on who God is and what he thinks.
love the sinner not the sin.
Murder of one made in His image is offensive to God, no matter how young the victim.
I used to be more “reasonable” in my views on abortion. Then I had one baby. And another and another...until we now have six. I also have three children I will not see until heaven. The most recent loss was a baby boy who died right at the beginning of the second trimester. I did get to see an ultrasound of him kicking and bouncing off the side of the womb over and over, looking for all the world like he was playing. This was at 11 weeks gestation-a perfectly formed little boy. There was nothing wrong with him, an undiagnosed autoimmune disease for me was the cause of the loss of two of our children.
The most painful part of the diagnosis is the likelihood that I will never again have the privilege of carrying a child.
No one will ever convince me that killing a baby earlier is less evil or distasteful than later. Every single person is made by God in His image. Hands that shed innocent blood are guilty regardless of the size or age of the innocent.
Thank you for posting.
I am deeply sorry for you painful losses. But you are correct, God does not like His carefully crafted creations, his gifts, to be misused and discarded.
Until 1930 so did Protestants.
It has long been known that progesterone can save some at-risk pregnancies. And it is also known that the way MIFEPRISTONE (Mifeprex or RU-486) causes abortions is by blocking progesterone.
You have to get on the progesterone protocol within 48 hours of taking the first abortion pill for the progesterone to work in overriding the mifepristone and maintaining the pregnancy.
Here's the website, with a number of success stories.
This is called "choice". Right?
This is why Natural Family Planning --- which, at 98% effectiveness, is as reliable as the oral contraceptive --- is recommended as the non-morally-objectionable way to avoid, postpone, OR achieve pregnancy. It works --- it has no side effects--- it's free--- and it puts the choice in the hands of the couple alone by working with God's design of our bodies.
At a certain time period, all the Hebrew baby boys in Egypt where killed at the orders of Pharaoh. One was saved. And the one was Moses.
At a certain time period, all the baby boys under the age of three, were killed in Bethlehem. One was saved. And the one was Jesus Christ. That's worth doing every day of the week.
I appreciate your sharing this testimony with us. God bless you and your precious family.
Thanks, I share this as my little way of defending helpless babies. I hear my former self in comments suggesting compromise can be found by limiting the age for legal abortion and shudder. It is through loss after experiencing the blessing of new life that my resolve has been strengthened. It has become my passion.
And, yes, the pain of loss is still there. His due date was one month ago, so I’m waiting for the silent ache of empty arms to pass. Life goes on and I have an answer for so much of the craziness in the past 6 years. It makes the children born to us in that time even more amazing and miraculous to me.
Thank you for your kind words and blessings to you both.
