His lawyer dumped him I heard this am.
Note too how the cop goes back to pick up his taser and then plants it next to the guy, trying to build some kind of on-the-fly justification.
How was someone like this hired in the first place?
If there was no video, he would have gotten away with it

Reading the story, I see Tim Scott like Obama in other cases, did not hesitate to weigh in even before all the facts are in.
Racial solidarity, I guess.
CNN is trying to ramp this into a race war as usual!
Good riddance.
Probably overkill, yes. But some objective statements still need to be presented.
If that object was the taser, just because it was where they had been together to start doesn’t mean Scott did NOT take it; he might just have dropped it immediately.
As for making hay over “8 shots”, it seems he only hit with 1. I can’t believe Scott kept jogging the way he did with multiple shots in him. We’ll see, but “8 shots” does not mean he was full of 8 bullets.
This has been all over our local news. I don’t think this will blow up because there is no division among the people to play off. Everyone is in agreement so the race baiters have no where to go.
One: If this is true, then we have an exploitable incident (by Leftists standards) for both black rage AND anti-cop sentiment, which could cause further unrest in either direction;
Two: Is there even the smallest chance this video footage was manufactured to create such a crisis, given contemporary video technology?
Three: Is there any credence to the possibility this may have been a good shoot?

Recently watched Fargo (I know just a movie) but the scene where he is feeding the guy into the wood chipper. He sees the cop (Marge) and starts running across the ice away from her. She shoots him in the back.
Are there any known situations where it is legal for a LEO to do this?

North Charleston officer faces murder charge after video shows
him shooting man in back
This was an outright murder, based on the video clip.
Notice how quick all the media is to use race in this instance, white officer kills black man. They NEVER use race like that when the roles are reversed, NEVER. This fits their agenda.
The victim may have thought the cop couldn’t hit anything from 25 ft away. Having seen cops shoot that would have been my bet, but I would not have run from the cops. Running for a broken taillight is stupid, there must have been another reason.
Well, facts are a pesky thing at trial. The prosecution will get all of about 15 seconds to show the video. It will not be sufficiently clear to have picked up the suspect yelling, “Yo, MF’er I got a gun and I’m gonna turn around and shoot yo in the head.” Or, the out of range, soon to be hostages, toddlers playing in the park just ahead of the fleeing felon in the direct line of his flight.
So, let’s not get our bets down too early in this race.
This puts other “good shoots” in question.
