The video is so damning that authorities promptly charged a South Carolina officer with murder.
In the footage, an African-American man, apparently unarmed, is seen running away from the officer. He gets several yards away before the officer aims his gun toward his back.
Eight shots later, the man falls to the ground. By that point, he appears to be at least 25 feet from the officer.

“... 8 shots does not mean he was full of 8 bullets”.
He died on the scene. I don’t understand your issue if he was hit once or eight times.. the man died.
Perhaps, but that doesn’t explain him dropping the same object next to the body, and then picking it up, making sure that the other cop sees it.
Are you crazy? He shot the guy eight times in the back 25 feet away? You're OK with that kind of law enforcement?
Recently watched Fargo (I know just a movie) but the scene where he is feeding the guy into the wood chipper. He sees the cop (Marge) and starts running across the ice away from her. She shoots him in the back.
Are there any known situations where it is legal for a LEO to do this?
And then drop next to the body of the man he shot? What might that have been if not something to incriminate the victim?
>>pick up his taser and then plants it next to the guy<<
Wow, I didn’t notice that. I’ll have to watch again.

North Charleston officer faces murder charge after video shows
him shooting man in back
Broken taillight and a family court warrant and you end up dead!
No, he wouldn’t have. A taser on or near somebody who was shot at a distance, with all of the several entry wounds in the back, does not constitute justifiable cause, and the cop would not have gotten away with it.
Leaving that aside, I just hope that the rabble rousers don’t arrive. North Charleston (where I have family) is a very mixed area, with some high crime, mostly black locations, some white working class areas, some military off-base residential areas, and even a couple of higher end subdivisions.
Fortunately, I think that this was so blatant that nobody is going to be able to make hay on it. Even the police chief started crying when announcing it.
Seriously? You're good with a cop shooting a fleeing suspect multiple times in the back? Really?
Good riddance to the cop.
That’s better tan your first two word comment w/o context.
I was responding to Tangleledupinblue’s comment, “He could fry in SC.”
Suggest you read more carefully.
Answers:
One: Yes, but too bad.
Two: No.
Three: No.
This was an outright murder, based on the video clip.
No I think Tim Scott like most of us know murder when we see it on a video.
If it's shown on the 6 o'clock news, it's as true as it needs to be.
Actual ground truth -facts, if you will- will not stop The Agenda.
It's obvious by now that thousands of government jackboots have already gotten away with it. Cops hate these newfangled pocket video recorders.
I can accept that. Sorry I took it wrong.
