GOV JERRY BROWN: CALIFORNIANS TO BE HEAVILY FINED FOR LONG SHOWERS
Breitbart ^ | April 5, 2015 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/05/2015 3:36:45 PM PDT by MeshugeMikey

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) said Californians will face heavy fines for taking long showers.

Brown said, “This executive order is done under emergency power. It has the force of law. Very unusual. It’s requiring action and changes in behavior from the Oregon border all the way to the Mexican border. It affects lawns. It affects people’s — how long they stay in the shower. How businesses use water.”

Brown said to enforce his order, “Each water district that actually delivers waters — water to homes and businesses, they carry it out. We have a state water board that overseas the relationships with the districts. Hundreds of them. If they don’t comply, people can be fined $500 a day. Districts can go to court to get a cease and desist order. The enforcement mechanism is powerful. In a drought of this magnitude, you have to change that behavior and you have to change it substantially.”

California is called the Golden State. With all the deviants and perverts there make them take the appropriate shower.

Problem solved.

I do agree that sucking up hundreds of billions of gallons to irrigate the feed for livestock to export beef to Asia is massively destructive in its impact on animals, humans, and the environment but that isn’t going anywhere soon unfortunately...

Speaking of desalinization....here in SoCal, in Huntington Beach, there is a power plant right on coast—it pumps ocean water in and out for cooling for the steam plant. Plenty of space all around it, in fact many acres. They wanted to put a desal plant right next to the power plant, to take advantage of the hot discharge water from the steam condensers, making the whole process quite efficient and very cost effective.

NIMBYs said no. Idiots.

Each one of those shower heads uses between 0.6-2 gallons per minute. If you have Kohler's DTV2 you can pause the shower to soap up and than tap "OK" on the panel again to rinse. Each set of shower heads can be programmed to be turned on and then saved. You can save up to 6 programs.

Does this mean they will have to limit the water used at Starbucks?

Oh, the horror...

That image was just to illustrate what has been common in California for generations, for one thing that image only had 4 shower heads, it was not intended to be about a certain modern model.

The old multiple shower head systems, are still out there in many bathrooms.

They just need to think outside the box. They just build a big water slide from Mexico to Sacramento.

Coming soon...mandatory wifi-enabled "Internet of Things" shower water consumption meters to report you in real-time to the Water Gestapo so they can break down your door mid-shower. It actually does exist -- Google "Driblet."

Market prices don’t work so well with government sanctioned franchises to “natural monopolists”, i.e., your local water company.

Moonbeam has to jerking himself silly, reveling in all this power. What better way to control a populace than to control its water supply?

It's been around a long time -- called "gray water." Only trouble is you need to spend HUGE bucks to re-pipe your waste water lines and install a huge storage tank. Of course, the $100 BILLION they are spending on useless high speed choo-choo would probably pay for a gray water system for every California homeowner and leave enough to purchase a season ticket to your favorite baseball team.
