I could be wrong, but I don’t that is the screw, rather I think those act as dive planes and rudders.

That’s my thought too. I didn’t see any conventional dive planes, and the screw looks like it’s covered.

Then again, I was in the Army, so I don’t know much about submarines beyond Tom Clancy.

I think you’re probably right. Looks like the screw is covered by a tarp.

Same here. You can see a covering where the screw would go.
