A State Department official dismissed a plea Friday from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the Iran nuclear agreement include clear recognition of his nation's "right to exist," declaring negotiations are "only about the nuclear issue."
State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf, in a terse response to a question about Netanyahu's concerns, told reporters, "This is an agreement that is only about the nuclear issue" -- a comment that indicates the Obama administration is not looking to enshrine Israel's security into a final agreement.
Harf, for her part, suggested the talks are complicated enough already.
"This is an agreement that doesn't deal with any other issues, nor should it," she said.
The Israeli prime minister, though, made the call for the "right to exist" measure during brief remarks early Friday. He blasted the Iran framework deal and said his Cabinet is uniformly opposed to it. He closed his brief address by demanding that any final agreement include "a clear and unambiguous Iranian recognition of Israel's right to exist."
The statement was prompted by reported statements from a top Iranian military official, who was quoted saying "erasing Israel" off the map is "non-negotiable."
To that, Netanyahu said: "The survival of Israel is non-negotiable."

Especially when the Iranians were the ones who declared “Israel’s destruction is non-negotiable” on the day of the March 31 deadline!
And it was just a couple weeks ago they blew up a mock US aircraft carrier!
Defund and eliminate the IRS?
How about defund the dept of state?
Bureau of indian affairs?
FBI?
And damn near 80 percent of the worthless federal gubmint?
EPA? Worthless mookabookers!
Obammy. And everything this half breed mooselimb has pushed? Shit can it and his sorry ass.
What happens when you put children at the steering wheel.
And one more thing, many of these sanctions were put into place decades ago, after incidents like the hostage crisis and the 1983 Beirut terror attack!
So how can they justify lifting ALL sanctions if the regime won’t change it’s behavior?
Now, what did the State Department rejects do?
What's just as infuriating is how so many can be completely apathetic, let alone supportive, of brazenly foolish, incompetent loons in positions of power and governance in this country.
“I wonder how Bibi and his cabinet reacted when they saw that comment from this afternoons briefing!”
Bibi knows what he has to do. Sooner or later.
Damn, it must be hard to go through life with a last name that sounds like someone barfing .... harf, harf, uuuuuharf....
Back in 2002, Bibi came to Congress to urge US to invade Iraq. Too bad we took his advice. The Iraq war ended up making Iran a lot stronger, by replacing Saddam (Iran’s biggest enemy) with a pro-Iran government.
Bibi isn’t infallible, I guess.
It is well noted that our Imam-In-Chief hates Israel.

Iraq was in good condition when Bush left office.
First, that isn’t true. There were mass killings every week. Christians were targeted in particular.
Second, Iraq’s government was Shia, pro-Iran. That started in 2005, well before Bush left office. The guys who took power after Saddam, had been exiles living in Iran. We ousted Iran’s biggest enemy - Saddam - and put in a government that is Iran’s closest ally in the entire world.
“Thanks you George Bush! — Your friend, Iran”
Ummm...they don’t seem to be very enthusiastic about the United States existing, either...while I am certainly in favor of Israel’s existence, unlike the ivy league inbreeds in the state department, I worry about the US first.
This leading question was a setup, a plant perhaps, to elcit the answer "no".
Apparently the Iranians are going to destroy one of their reactor cores. Exactly how one does that, I don’t know. Thought the old cores had to be stored safely for years until they cool down. And of course they are going to turn off a few thousand centrifuges and promise to not use them for 10 years. From what I could gather, the remaining centrifuges they can run gives them a 1 year break out period. So they can build 10 nukes in 10 years. That seems to be what we got.
obama cares not at all for the American hostages held in Iran. This is beyond explicable.
Never forget that this bastard was put in the White House by those who call themselves Americans.
Chris Hayes looks good.
Yes it is. If 0bama is a foreign agent. Especially if he is a terrorist.
I will resurrect this story one more time.
It had to be 2007. I saw this 2, maybe 3 times on Fox News. One time with Cavuto, once with Sheppy, and one other I think, that didn’t have commentary.
It was in the UK, in London. Muslims were demonstrating. The men were in an intersection with three corners. One man in a white robe, obviously a muslim, came toward the camera, shaking his finger and shouting, “You’ll see. I’ll tell you...we’re going to turn the White House black, you’ll see. We’re going to....” And with that, someone off to the left (camera right) signaled him, so he turned abruptly and walked away, shouting.
Cavuto and Smith were taken aback. I felt something in my bones, I tell you.
It might have been Choudary, but I don’t know. I scoured YT for months after 0bama began running. Couldn’t find it anywhere.
But with 0bama’s visceral hatred for America and Americans, it makes sense to me now like nothing else.
One time, a guy early on in 0bama’s presidency and I got to talking. He said he thought 0bama was Al Qaeda. Makes you think, doesn’t it?
I've got the feeling that opening a can of soup is complicated enough for Hard.
