A group of robbers on the south side of Chicago appear to have taken a page out of the Gulf Cartel or Los Zetas manual for setting up roadblocks in order to carry out violent robberies. Just last week a group of three or four robbers have used a construction area in the citys south side to set up roadblocks as a trap for motorists.
Once the motorists stop, they were assaulted and robbed, UPI news reported.
The practice bears a striking similarity to a practice already established by both the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas who set up roadblocks around Mexican border cities to keep their enemies out or to rob unsuspecting motorists.

No, Dave. They’re not. It’s a popular misconception I know. But there are hundreds of us at least walking the streets of Chicago legally but discretely armed every single day.
One day these thugs will run into one of us and the thug population will be suddenly and violently reduced.
I will stand up and cheer the day it happens.

hit the gas and plow right through them
I have a Dodge Ram 2500 - the biggest issue for me would be picking the little bits out that got stuck in the tire grooves
They can get away with this kind of crap in Chicago. But, outside the city and Cook County, not so much.
“Cant the police do something about this?”
Are you kidding? The Mexican drug cartels own Chicago. They have been so successful that now there are copycat incidents.
Please explain - I thought handguns were banned in Chicago. Is concealed carry legal? Or are you just making the point that the Second Amendment gives the right and it can't be taken away by city gun grabbers?
Cartel members walked across the border and went to Chicago.
I'd be willing to bet the thieves setting up these roadblocks in Chicago don't speak a word of Spanish.
Dearborn is the safe part of Detroit.
Take a stroll through Detroit at night. It isn't the Arabs you need to be looking over your shoulder for.
Concealed carry has been legal in Illinois and Chicago since early last year. Chicagos draconian hand gun banned was also thrown out by the Courts around the same time. See McDonald v Madigan.
The permit process is a bit of a pain but the law was well designed and there are remarkably few “No Guns” signs to be found. As a result there are thousands of us legally carrying already and the State Police have a 3 month backlog of pending applications.
Hope that helps.
