The governor of California has created the state's mandatory water reduction orders, following a historic drought.
The order mandates a 25% reduction in water sage for cities and town across the state.

We could reclaim the Sahara.. heck, there used to be rivers and prosperity there.. we should be able to manage this latest round of drought.
It hasnt helped that populations have swelled and continue to do so.. the foresight was not there to anticipate the growth,, folks were more concerned about feathering nests and keeping activists happy.. rather than residents.
the millions of tons of HAY we grow.... for export ,,,,, should be first on the list for water cutbacks
You should see how the coastal rich consume energy and water at levels unimaginable to most Americans.
We have to install over sized water pipes for them and gas lines and meters that we use for commercial bakeries, and water heating suitable for small apartment complexes.
A Streisand for instance, according to a book from years ago, used $22,000.00 of water per year, and has a 12,000 sq. foot air-conditioned barn, yet she published environmental advice, such as me using a clothes line instead of dryer.
Maybe our Left Coast freepers could weigh in to refresh our memories on how the agenda of the enviromaniacs contributes to water shortages (along with forest fires and other ecological disasters) in their areas.
P.S.....let Governor Moonbeam ration a sizeable amount of the billions of gallons of precious water used daily to maintain the lushly-green, exclusive golf courses of the California moneyed elite.
Now THAT would really pull Obama's cork, wouldn't it!

“When the Carlsbad Desalination Project is completed this fall, it will be the largest desalination plant in the Western Hemisphere.”
“Santa Barbara owns a mothballed plant built more than 20 years ago during another severe drought that can turn seawater into drinking water. But it was never used beyond a tryout phase before steady rain began falling again. Now, officials are working to press the Charles E. Meyer Desalination Facility back into service as the city’s reservoirs continue to diminish.”
“Desalinated water will cost about a third more than Santa Barbara’s imported water because on top of the estimated $40 million it could take to open the plant, it could cost $5.2 million a year to keep it running.”

That has a very wide, all encompassing definition. For example...

longfin smelt.
greens use regional critters and even weeds to mess with mother nature.
Just reroute the Columbia River to California.
Problem solved!
You and the horse&heifer you rode in on. ;-P
Blame the Spaniards for introducing ‘em.
Them giant icebergs floating around might come in handy about now.
Let’s start with the vast lawns around the capitol; shut off all the water. Follow on with the governor’s mansion. Let’s see signs in the capitol building on every toilet noting that ‘if it is yellow, let it mellow. Brown, flush it down...’
Oh, right, these restrictions are for the little people. So we can see news stories about how cities are bankrupting little old ladies who were out watering their edible garden and failing to maintain perfectly green landscape.
What do you want me to takeaway from the quotes in the article that you posted?
What is your analysis/opinion regarding my post? Or the thread itself?
If the government of CA can't figure this (i.e. drought...among other pressing issues) out, then they should be fired/impeached.

The Leftists always see a problem as an opportunity to expand state power.
Yup, we got majorly crop-dusted with the trails and white-out by early morning, over the weekend. Today we have a faint blue sky at least.
We used to enjoy sunshine year round in the AZ desert. Now, it’s only until the globalists call lights-out (early morning to mid-day).
I use more electricity so not sure how it’s all “helping.” All it does is make us sick and increases the humidity.
And they keep inventing new names to call the apocalyptic/Etch-a-Sketch/”Truman Show” “clouds.”
I don’t think it’s the first ever. In Northern CA in the 1970s, we were only allowed to flush every so often, could not clean our cars, etc. Maybe they’re saying it’s the first state-wide one? Anyway...
If we can build oil pipelines it should be easier to do water.
Take away from my post? Analyze your post of a meaningless wisecrack and the thread?
The quotes speak for themselves, Californians are, and have, built desalination plants, and the costs involved explain why the 20 year old plant was decommissioned for cheaper water, and is now being reopened, and why California has not to date, just jumped up and decided to desalinate all of it’s water.
It was actually quite an informative post.
I remember it well. Brown flush it down yellow is mellow.
Moonbeam was Gub then too.. Or acted like one.
While he ran for the WH.. California sizzled dry.
