Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Wednesday that he does not plan to sign the version of the religious freedom bill that currently sits on his desk and called on the state legislature to make changes before sending it back to him.
Hutchinson, who called the issue "divisive" and cited his own son as an example of someone urging him to veto the bill, made the announcement during a Little Rock press conference Wednesday morning.
The Arkansas House on Tuesday approved a religious freedom measure that mirrors the one Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed into law in Indiana -- sparking outrage from businesses, sports organizations and popular culture figures who said it opened the door to discrimination against gays and lesbians.

RINO DEMONCRAP SELLOUT. Gay mafia first, country second
Looks like others just beat me to the punch. Feel free to delete.
So now we have come to a point where a Black family driving around for hours trying to find a lunch counter which will serve them or a hotel which will lodge them over 50 years ago is now the moral equivalent of a pink mafia activist trying to find a business they can break with a vexatious lawsuit for refusing to celebrate their perversion?
” When push comes to shove Chamber of Commerce “
All you really ever have to check.
As I see it, government and business do have a religion that they worship: Money
I find Gov. Asa Hutchinson “divisive.”
...afraid of a visit by Harry Reid’s pals...on the exercise machine...
To be fair, asking it to conform to the Federal law is politically-smart. After all, if Bill Clinton signed the exact same measure, then how can you blame the mean old Republicans?
Cowards die 1000 deaths.
Citing his son as an example of people asking him to veto the bill is an in your face admission of his conflict of interest with regard to this bill.
Whether or not the direct influence of a family member had anything to do with his decision is a moot point now because the gov trotted it out as an excuse to bolster his clout. He has ignored his constituents’ in the interest of political expediency.
Very well said. I am so sick of our goverment, at every level, bowing and scrapeing to perverts!
Profiles in courage, obviously.
Like domino's or cards they fall one by one ......that is progressives (libs) plan.
His son told him to do it.
The people of Arkansas need to decide what to do with their Governor. That is not this Ohioan's business. But for a father to blame his son for making a decision, which puts not being "divisive," ahead of protecting the freedom of conscience & the economic liberty of his people, is contemptible. A father should explain--should have explained long before this--to his son, that the defense of American liberty is the first duty of citizenship! Not being "divisive," is to embrace abject moral cowardice; to betray the very concept of moral leadership.
America was founded by men willing to be divisive. America will die, if we allow those who display a Compulsion For Uniformity, to continue their efforts to remake American society, without our determined opposition.

If you are free—even in managing your own business—only so long as you exercise your “freedom” in a manner prescribed by the Government—you are not free at all.
I agree, that is well put.
This is reminiscent of Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and his decision to be an advocate for gay marriage based on his son’s homosexuality.
It would nice if the Republican leaders in the AK house and Sen ate refused to recall the bill, and told Asa, we passed a bill, you either sign it or veto it.
We aren’t taking it back.
If you take it back, it should not have been passed in the first place.
Someone has to show some balls here, not just be in awe of some.
What if 30 states pass some sort of similar law, what will
Apple do? Not do business in those states?
Curious isn’t it that in Iran Apple does business and over in Iran Gays are executed.
Why the double standard?
