Flashback: Hewlett-Packard Top Executive Ousted (Fiorina)

Carly Fiorina’s nearly six-year reign at Hewlett-Packard Co. ended abruptly Wednesday as board members forced her out, disappointed by her inability to transform a plodding technology giant dominated by printer sales into a more nimble innovator.

H-P’s stock, which has gone nowhere for two years and is down two-thirds from its peak in 2000, rose almost 7 percent after earlier soaring almost 11 percent on the news of her ouster.

Board members said they fired the chief executive — perhaps corporate America’s most influential woman — because Fiorina failed to slash costs and boost revenue as quickly as directors had hoped.

“While I regret the board and I have differences about how to execute H-P’s strategy, I respect their decision,” said Fiorina, 50, who is expected to collect a severance package worth $21.1 million.

Fiorina, who holds degrees in medieval history and philosophy, business administration and management, is a standout in liberal Silicon Valley for her Republican activism. She has taken heat for her outspoken advocacy of the offshoring of U.S. jobs to low-wage workers abroad.

....”Before that she shattered Lucent. She is a horrible CEO, promoted because she is female. She leaves a wrath of destruction wherever she goes”....

She does not strike me as someone as a CEO at all....I have difficulty just hearing her speak and am quick to move on.

Maybe the GOP just wants a woman represented and thus she is.

Yeah, the Lucent deal didn't affect me as personally. I started with computers on HP-3000 minicomputers. I really dug their hardware for a long time.

I recall back when they first started deploying the small form factor winchester drives, if you had a failure, HP wanted the disk back (if security didn't preclude that), so they could run intrusive diagnostics to determine why it failed. These days, no one cares enough to even do fault analysis.

I am active in stock market, and from what I recall almost all NASDAQ stocks took a huge hit after 2000.

Have you posted any attack articles on Hillary lately?

Or do you focus on attack articles only on republicans whom you do not like, in order to promote those you like more?

I target RINOs and squishy moderates like Fiorina who PRETEND to be Conservatives just to fool people and get elected.

Senator Cruz or Governor walker will be quickly accused of war on women, when they attack Hillary during the coming campaign. Just watch.

Fiorina will be difficult to be labeled as war on women when she attacks Hillary. Therefore I welcome her entry into the field. So far, she is doing a great job of throwing jabs at Hillary. Carly has no chance to be the nominee, so her entry does not bother me one bit.

In the almost impossible event she wins the nomination, she would be 300 times better than president Hillary anyway. In the meanwhile, I am trying to stay away from going negative on any republicans. Nothing good will come out of that. But I do have an order of preference, and top of that list is Governor Scott Walker.
