There's something very dangerous happening in states across the country.
A wave of legislation, introduced in more than two dozen states, would allow people to discriminate against their neighbors. Some, such as the bill enacted in Indiana last week that drew a national outcry and one passed in Arkansas, say individuals can cite their personal religious beliefs to refuse service to a customer or resist a state nondiscrimination law.
Others are more transparent in their effort to discriminate. Legislation being considered in Texas would strip the salaries and pensions of clerks who issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples even if the Supreme Court strikes down Texas' marriage ban later this year. In total, there are nearly 100 bills designed to enshrine discrimination in state law.
These bills rationalize injustice by pretending to defend something many of us hold dear. They go against the very principles our nation was founded on, and they have the potential to undo decades of progress toward greater equality.
America's business community recognized a long time ago that discrimination, in all its forms, is bad for business. At Apple, we are in business to empower and enrich our customers' lives. We strive to do business in a way that is just and fair.
That's why, on behalf of Apple, I'm standing up to oppose this new wave of legislation wherever it emerges. I'm writing in the hopes that many more will join this movement. From North Carolina to Nevada, these bills under consideration truly will hurt jobs, growth and the economic vibrancy of parts of the country where a 21st-century economy was once welcomed with open arms.

That dork forgets that his job is to provide products that we want.
We don’t give a sh*t about his gayness.
So, STFU, and give us software and hardware that we are willing to use.
And get a room, idiot.

‘There’s something very dangerous happening’ in America
Chickfila - yes, Hobby Lobby - yes, Starbucks - No, Apple - No.........I’m seeing a trend?
It is about time the right to free association was restored.
When is the average American going to realize that these fascists have finally reached the point where they are not going away peacefully?
Good for Indiana!
My sincerely held religious beliefs tell me (and ALL Christians) that committing homosexual acts is a capital offense as bad as or worse than murder. Now, clearly, I am not going to take it upon myself to go around killing faggots. But the state should not have any power to make me interact with such perverts.
Its bad enough that the government no longer passes laws that comport with the Biblical Law the country was founded upon. But forcing business owners to bring filthy, diseased people into their place of business (hence putting employees other customers at risk) goes WAY too far.
I think that forcing someone to violate their religion in their own business affairs is discrimination, In fact I think anytime you are forced to serve anyone, that isn’t freedom, that’s slavery.
If you don’t like the owner, don’t shop there, you have a choice. Just like the owner does.
We should protect the freedom of association from discrimination.
Constitutional protection of individual liberty is a dangerous thing to libs.
How dare people think that they know how to live their lives better than the government does.
There’s something very seriously wrong with these idiot executives who take offense when states exercise their rights regarding freedom.
Apple can shove it. If they hate Indiana so much, then let them stop selling Apple products there.
Yeah, people are getting tired of getting the gay agenda crammed down our throats. If a printer refused to print a Bible I bet they would defend that printers right.
The risk is past, our Freedom and Liberty is lost.
“I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.” - Tim Cook (from Wikipedia)
This is for full disclosure.
I am going back to droid, for a droid is more free open source than the I-Phone which is funny cause one is open and free to modify and the other is controlled.
“At Apple, we are in business to empower and enrich our customers’ lives.”
Uh, no. You’re in business to increase the value of the shareholders’ investment.
Besides, if someone wants to open a business to serve the homo community(and the homo community alone), then let the free market decide who’s right.
Cute how he frames himself as a conservative, opposed to dangerous changes in a time-proven tradition. And he pretends to be against discrimination, while discriminating all the while himself. It must be nice for him to be in power, and feel comfortable inventing and dictating morality to others.
