Things haven't gone too well for the former CFO who criticized Chick-fil-A in a video he posted on YouTube. Unable to find lasting work, 37-year-old Adam Smith is living on food stamps with his wife and four kids in the RV they call home, he tells ABC News. "I think people are scared," Smith says of potential employers. "I think people are scared that it could happen again." Back in the summer of 2012, as thousands of people were opposing Chick-fil-A's stance on gays, Smith rolled into a Chick-fil-A drive-thru for a free glass of water and slammed the female attendant: "Chick-fil-A is a hateful corporation," Smith told her as the filmed the exchange. "I dont know how you live with yourself and work here. I dont understand it." Smith posted the video before returning to work at Vante, a Tucson-based medical manufacturerand the proverbial you-know-what had hit the fan by the time he got there.
The receptionist told him "the voicemail is completely full, and its full of bomb threats," he says. Fired that day, Smith lost his $200,000 salary and more than $1 million in stock options. He and his family moved to Portland, where he got a CFO job, but lost it two weeks later when they realized who he was.

Gamecock x 4
**I feel sorry for his family.**
I feel sorry for the kids.
I suspect the wife knew he was a jerk when she married him. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she encouraged him.
Chick Fil A has no stance on gays.
The liberals decided to pick a fight against Chick Fil A because the founder of the company opposes homosexual marriage. The company itself has no policy or practices against a homosexual. The liberals decided that the company had anti homosexual policies because of the opinion of the founder on homosexual marriage. That little fact is always lost in discussions about Chick Til A.
His family can leave. I don’t feel sorry for them or any other leftist. I hope unfairness befalls them all. I’m more than suspicious of those who express concern.
The guys an A-Hole,Family is trashed, they probably are pissed ay him big time...Hopefully the A$$HOLE learned something..Lets leave the poor POS alone..If he’s as smart as they say/said he figured it out and has a long way back.
What? He didn’t sue Vante for violating his free speech rights? /s
An a-hole and a liar.
If his wife was smart, she would have dumped this loser a long time ago. That she is still with him leads me to believe she’s another arrogant liberal “entitled” jerk. What are they teaching their children?
By the way, he’s allegedly broke, but he was making hundreds of thousands a year. I gather he wasn’t smart enough to save some of that money for a catastrophic event such as job loss. The wife is an idiot to depend on him for financial support.
Maybe she can get a job. Or perhaps she’s as stupid as he is.
Upon Mod review, we determined that 15 FReepers had not enjoyed this idiots misery, so we are leaving the thread up.
*snicker* Thanks for the laugh.
LOL
Anything for the class of ‘98.
Never get mad when you can get even. It feels better longer.
God will not be mocked
OH well making 200 grand a year and not smart enough to keep his month shut.
He was making 200 grand a year and wasn’t smart enough to invest in such a way he could live if he lost his job...
I hadn’t seen it.
I don’t want to see anyone damned for one mistake. Even if he acted like a jerk. And I certainly don’t want to see his family reduced to poverty. But I suspect this has been an on-going problem with him, given some of the background I’ve seen in stories on him.
Self-righteousness will get you in trouble and cause you and your loved-ones a lot of pain and misery. I hope this is a growing experience for him and he comes out the other side more humble.
