Kylee Moss, a 7-year-old-girl from Belton, Missouri, was sent home from school with a note to her mother saying that the 54-pound child’s Body Mass Index (BMI) was too high.
Aside from the idiocy of using a discredited measurement for body fat, what are these administrators thinking? Obviously, they’re not. If they had two working brain cells, they would take one look at this kid and realize the stupidity of believing their “measurements.”

BMI is BS and the creator of the scale even admitted that it’s not appropriate for general population statistics.

I just calculated her BMI at the NIH BMI calculator website.
Her BMI is 17.9. That puts her in the underweight category.
I wonder if the note was meant to say that she’s underweight, and someone messed up?

BMI is a complete farce when it comes to any measure of fitness.
It’s completely dependent on just two numbers, height and weight.
Every single linebacker in the NFL is Class I or II obese according to BMI numbers.
Heck, if you’re a recreational weight lifter chances are your BMI tells you you’re obese.
