On March 23, 2015, United States Senator Ted Cruz of Texas gave a speech announcing that he is running for the Republican nomination for President. In his speech he said the following about illegal immigration:
Instead of the lawlessness and the presidents unconstitutional executive amnesty, imagine a president that finally, finally, finally secures the borders.
And imagine a legal immigration system that welcomes and celebrates those who come to achieve the American dream.
Missing from Sen. Cruzs speech was anything about how the nation should treat the illegal immigrants who are here. Sen. Cruzs position on this point has been contradictory.

This is a stupid article, and points to how we might just lose 2016.
Until we secure the border, it doesn’t make a damned bit of difference what else we say we are in favor of or not.
But I'm very sure that people who can't follow anything more complex than a soundbyte will say he does.
Cruz is the one. Get behind him. Get it done. Don't listen to the media.
It’s worse than that - the author is just plain wrong...he missed the word NOT in Cruz’ press release - the one he based the entire piece on.
Here is cut and paste from the VERY FIRST SENTENCE in the presser: “to significantly improve border security measures, fix our immigration system in a manner that champions legal immigration, and uphold the rule of law by ensuring illegal immigrants granted legal status under this bill are NOT GIVEN a path to citizenship.”
WTF? This guy didn’t read.
Kind of like how I feel about Bushes.
“Until we secure the border, it doesnt make a damned bit of difference what else we say we are in favor of or not.”
Absolutely right.
Funny how the anti-Cruzers demand he be ‘perfect’ in every way, while if conservatives back someone on principle, they are looked upon with scorn.
In order to get our country back is essential not to worry about what ‘they’ say.

Cruz candidacy is like a truth serum.
Sometimes, I think those that say they support conservative “thinkership” [I made that word up for this very case, BTW] in their effort to ‘get published’, flourish in the community and for other reasons often try to make problems from minimal points or to just stir up discussion as newbie talk radio hosts often do.
I think that’s the case here. My version of conservative “thinkership” is responsible journalism that responds accurately in a conservative manner while ALSO being activist in other venues - such as here, for example.
I see it that way. Similarly, I see “Global Warming” as an IQ test. If you think it’s a serious problem, then you are just not bright. And if a publication wants to oppose Cruz, then they are not truly Conservative.
Ah yes, the American Thinker, a “CONSERVATIVE???” magazine. Just as I’ve said, Ted Cruz needs to watch out and realize who his real enemies will be. It’s coming from the “RIGHT”??? These people will pick apart every sentence Cruz says. They will say; “HE SAID THIS, BUT DID HE REALLY MEAN THAT?” Cruz’s battle will be for the heart and soul of the republican party. These “PROGRESSIVES” that still call themselves “REPUBLICANS” isn’t about to lay down and play dead. They know that an elected TED CRUZ as president will set back their plans for at least a generation, maybe forever.
People who can’t follow more than a sound ute are not his supporters.
GOP e makes huge stupidity when they try to go after 100%. Cruz won’t
That will baffle and ire the media. And they’ll go after him worse
Heck right now they’re looking at his little girls for dirt
And they know it.
Perhaps it’s not that this fellow didn’t read, but conveniently did some fancy editing by leaving NOT out.
Anti-Cruzers Cruz Deniers.
In this case, it’s stinkership.
The American Stinker
Personally, I’m pretty damned tired of reading articles from American Thinker.
The Cruz test causes them to show their true colors.
