World-renowned author and staunch critic of Islam Ayaan Hirsi Ali appeared on the The Daily Show this week, where host Jon Stewart attempted to challenge her assertion that Islam is different from the worlds three major Abrahamic religionsJudaism, Christianity, and Islamas Hirsi Ali asserts in her latest book, Heretic: Why Islam Needs a Reformation Now.

Is so.;-)
OK...snicker!
Please expand and deconstruct my statement, RR.
Just calling the argument a strawman doesn’t really make it a strawman, but...I am, like our illustrious POTUS...all ears! (as well as knowing the “hard” definition” of rhetoric’s strawman).
That is a type of logical fallacy.
She has said (and here I paraphrase and rely on memory, so if I've misquoted you, Ayaan, please forgive me) that when she arrived in the Netherlands, African immigrants told her that if she just shouts "racism" she can get anything she wants.
Ayaan looks more beautiful and self-confident than ever. As a man who has had wonderful effects on women, I can't help wondering if her marriage to Niall Ferguson has produced these lovely results! If so, nice going, Niall!
When Jon Stewart interviews a genuine intellectual, it’s almost painful to watch, he’s so obviously out of his depth.
I believe that there is a metaphysical/spiritual world wherein there is a God, and gods, and angels, and demons. I believe that there are vast unseen forces of good and evil.
If I didn't believe this, I would see religion merely as social constructs that people invent to give order to their lives. In fact, I think some people to use religion merely to give order and meaning to their lives anyway (i.e. they don't actually worship God).
That said, believing as I do, I see great evil at work in islam. And I, rightly or wrongly, see that evil as a product of spiritual forces and those who are influenced by those evil spiritual forces.
In my worldview, Allah is the equivalent of the Judeo-Christian Satan.
Remember the satanic verses of Salman Rushdie fame?

I have a younger very lib brother who thinks Stewart is an incredible genius. My brother really believes that if I would just watch The Daily Show (which I've actually done), I would quickly see the light and turn into a raging lib like him, my brother.
I informed my bro that in my younger years I did think a lot like Stewart. But as I got older, I realized liberalism was a load of b.s. That statement of mine simply enraged my bro is recovering from a cancer operation. I'm afraid my call to cheer him up had the opposite result. Oh well.
Indeed I do.
