Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker may be on the verge of burning himself down before he actually gets started, given what is now becoming something of a circus regarding his actual stance on immigration.
According to this new Wall Street Journal report, its quite possible a supporter of Jeb Bush, or another candidate went to the media regarding Walkers recent comments at a private GOP dinner, it doesnt matter. With three sources now (anonymously) on record, he appears to have Walkered himself right into this one. If his name becomes synonymous with waffling on a critical issue like immigration, his next nickname may be toast!
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker told a private dinner of New Hampshire Republicans this month that he backed the idea of allowing undocumented immigrants to stay in the country and to eventually become eligible for citizenship, a position at odds with his previous public statements on the matter.
Given the history here, it may now be impossible to know precisely where Walker stands, with supporters left to assume the worst that hes just another open borders Republican becoming the default across the conservative grassroots whose support he needs to win.

If a journalist were to report that three anonymous sources claim the sky is blue, I’d go look for myself. That’s how little I trust journalists and their anonymous sources.
Don’t be so gullible!
Besides, I lived in Milwaukee county during the pension scandal. Scott Walker got in as county exec because of some corrupt Democrats. I watched him battle the county board every year he was there, until he got elected Governor.
And then I watched him battle the WI democrat party and the teachers unions.
To all those claiming that Scott Walker is squishy, or a RINO, or a sell-out, or pro-amnesty, or GOPe, I am telling you that you don’t know Scott Walker.
+1
Concur.
Counterpoint: look up the rules of the Wisconsin legislature, to see how easy it is for them to bottle things up as a minority (wasn’t there an occasion where they left the State House to prevent a quorum from being established)?
Incidentally, don't you think you should rely on more than anonymous sources?
He fired his pro-illegal-immigrant social media aide, Liz Mair.
Did you ever consider maybe his political advisors recommended he stay at his dedk?
dedk=desk.
Too late at night for coffee.
Habitual law-breakers contribute to the moral breakdown of a society.
We do not necessarily improve the country by excluding them arbitrarily while admitting less desirable candidates simply because they stood in line.
Hogwash. What, pray tell, makes law abiding applicants less desirable than those who ignore the law?
Close the boarders so that the population of illegals is a controlled set, then determine those that will be invited to stay based on a strict set of requirements.
By party registration perhaps? What makes you think that you would be able to come up with criteria that won't get you sued for discrimination? You're out to lunch.
Grover Norquist is an open borders guy (and closet Muslim).
Grover Norquist supports Walker.
Do you have anything else to say?
See post 131 above.
‘Assessing them for citizenship’ in my take is to get very many busses. I’m sure such can be available to take illegals to the border and leave them with their own way/means to go back to home bases. I have no more sympathy for an illegal intruder than a home grown urchin, who probably really needs help to avoid jail/prison time.
Well, I think the candidate who can articulate this the best way will win. I’d say the vast majority need to go back. It should be done on the most local level. Laws to back up with elected citizens decide to do.
I live in Troup Co. GA. I don’t have any idea what the illegal problem is. Lot’s of jobs here, drugs too, so I suspect they’re here. I’d like to know. Them citizens decide what to do about it.
Here it would be easy to deport, keep, etc. But. What do you do in Chicago and Detroit, LA and those other toilets out there where Obama has let in millions?
"...Asked about what to do with the people here illegally, however, he stressed that he had never tried to undo the goal of allowing them to stay.
The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight, he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation...."
You’re sure up early. :-)
This is when I’m up.
Early to bed, early to rise...
me too. :-)
Krauthammers take on the race is interesting.

I saw it earlier.
Thanks.
C’mon, Grey. 100k violent union thugs had murder in their eyes for us 10k Conservatives at these Tea Party rallies. I still showed up, risked potential danger to my physical well-being. Walker could have showed up. The MPD (Madison Police Department) had spotters/snipers on the roofs around the inner square of the Capitol. They would have protected him if he had walked out the door of the Capitol and walked onto the stage next to Breitbart or Palin. But he refused to do so. Coward. He is no different than those military officers that lead from behind instead of in front.
