As reported first thing today, while the initial phase of the military campaign against Yemen has been taking place for the past 18 hours and been exclusively one of airborne assaults by forces of the "Decisive Storm" coalition, Saudi hinted at what is coming next following reports that it had built up a massive 150,000 troop deployment on the border with Yemen.
And as expected, moments ago AP reported that Egyptian military and security officials told The Associated Press that the military intervention will go further, with a ground assault into Yemen by Egyptian, Saudi and other forces, planned once airstrikes have weakened the capabilities of the rebels.

Three Egyptian military and security officials told The Associated Press that a coalition of countries led by Egypt and Saudi Arabia will conduct a ground invasion into Yemen once the airstrikes have sufficiently diminished the Houthis and Saleh's forces. They said the assault will be by ground from Saudi Arabia and by landings on Yemen's Red and Arabian Sea coasts.
The aim is not to occupy Yemen but to weaken the Houthis and their allies until they enter negotiations for power-sharing, the officials said

It's impossible to sort out truth from fiction on Twitter, but it is interesting to use it to gauge the level of effort being put forth (propaganda-wise) by the various entities out there.

Sounds like the disparate Sunnis are unified finally: In opposition to Shia.
The only countries of substance that haven’t checked in are freaking Indonesia and Malaysia!
Yet another reason why Hillary will not even run in 2016.

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release March 25, 2015
Statement by NSC Spokesperson Bernadette Meehan on the Situation in Yemen
The United States strongly condemns ongoing military actions taken by the Houthis against the elected government of Yemen. These actions have caused widespread instability and chaos that threaten the safety and well-being of all Yemeni citizens.
The United States has been in close contact with President Hadi and our regional partners. In response to the deteriorating security situation, Saudi Arabia, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members, and others will undertake military action to defend Saudi Arabias border and to protect Yemens legitimate government. As announced by GCC members earlier tonight, they are taking this action at the request of Yemeni President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
The United States coordinates closely with Saudi Arabia and our GCC partners on issues related to their security and our shared interests. In support of GCC actions to defend against Houthi violence, President Obama has authorized the provision of logistical and intelligence support to GCC-led military operations. While U.S. forces are not taking direct military action in Yemen in support of this effort, we are establishing a Joint Planning Cell with Saudi Arabia to coordinate U.S. military and intelligence support.
At the same time, the United States continues to closely monitor terrorist threats posed by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula and will continue to take action as necessary to disrupt continuing, imminent threats to the United States and our citizens.
We strongly urge the Houthis to halt immediately their destabilizing military actions and return to negotiations as part of the political dialogue. The international community has spoken clearly through the UN Security Council and in other fora that the violent takeover of Yemen by an armed faction is unacceptable and that a legitimate political transition long sought by the Yemeni people can be accomplished only through political negotiations and a consensus agreement among all of the parties.
Turkey was the wild card. That brings NATO into the fray. China is now squawking. Russia still silent ?
GOOD.
This is not our fight. We should not be involved.
It’s religious civil war among Muslims

I think I’ll put back a magazine or two for safe keeping. lol
I’m not big on disaster scenarios, but US military absolutely could get sucked in to defending Iranian move on Saudi and the Gulf States while the White Hut works to undermine the US military to bloody effect.
“Bout time the Saudis do some of the dirty work to clean up the neighborhood.”
Saudi Arabia is now facing serious threats (multiple) to it’s existence.
ISIS in the north.
ISIS and AQ in the south.
Iran across the Red Sea, and now in Southern Iraq.
They have to step up, but it sounds like they will be paying the Egyptians/Pakistani’s to do the dying.

“Popular Mechanics”, and “The Survivalist”?
Egypt has 22 C-130's, plus civilian transports available. Saudi has 30 C-130's plus numerous other transports. They can lift a lot of ground troops from Egypt to south Saudi pretty quickly, distance is not all that far, (500-600 miles).
Moving armor and heavy equipment would be slower, but maybe not so necessary.
